Prey & Predator: Badlands Double Feature Hitting AMC Theaters

With the release of Predator: Badlands less than a month away from us, AMC, the largest cinema chain in the world with headquarters in the USA, just announced that they’ll be doing a special Prey & Predator: Badlands Double Feature on November 5th. Tickets will be available soon.

Prey & Predator: Badlands Double Feature Hitting AMC Theaters

This is big news for fans of Dan Trachtenberg’s Prey as it was a straight to streaming film, without ever having a proper official theatrical release, besides a few initial screening events. This represents an opportunity for a wider audience to see the film in cinemas, if they have an AMC theater available for them. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Prey, which was massively successful while streaming on Hulu, is getting an opportunity to have its belated cinema appearance when now the reputation of the franchise is in a much better spot than it was before its release.

I did a large search on fandango and essentially found 5 showings.
NY, NJ, CA, IL and WA.
I'm sure there are more, but considering I cast a pretty large net and only found 5 showings, that's not a great sign.

I noticed more screenings open up:
    REGAL! in Atlanta
    REGAL! in Houston
    AMC, McLean, VA
    AMC, Lake Buena Vista, FL
    AMC, San Diego, CA
    AMC, San Francisco, CA

    And the already found
    AMC, Paramus, NJ
    AMC, New York, NY
    AMC, Chicago, IL
    AMC, Lynnwood, WA
    AMC, Burbank, CA

    So, that's 11...so far.

Went and checked all the AMC's anywhere near me here in Michigan and none of them have the double-feature scheduled. I'm going to keep checking in as the release comes up to see if it changes, but it's looking more and more like this is a limited event in a handful of locations.

Quote from: Xenotaris on Oct 12, 2025, 03:10:47 AMAlso AMC still has those uncomfortable old school movie theater seats.

No shit they really are *that* uncomfortable? Like they ruin the experience?
I'll live, its not experience breaking. Now sitting in those seats for 3 and half hours watching both Prey and Badlands? Thats pushing it for my bum's comfort levels.

Well I won't be able to make it to the 5th anyways since my family will only go to the theaters on a weekend, so Cinemark or Movie Tavern's comfy seats await me.

!!!!!!!!!!THIS IS HUGE!!!!!!! Amber M posted the news on her Instagram stories as well. Hopefully this double feature BLOWS UP in the best way!

Holy shit, I just looked it up and there's an AMC theater within bike riding distance to me. It's even slightly closer than my usual theater. Now I just gotta see what times this double feature will be because sadly I'm probably working that night.

CON: AMC Theatre's popcorn is offensively godawful dogshit and actively ruins the moviegoing experience.

No really, a deciding factor impacting my enjoyment of a movie is how good the popcorn is since I almost only eat it when I go to the movies, and AMC's popcorn is f**king terrible and I go out of my way to avoid it. I'll deal with less comfortable seats or whatever if it means I get really good popcorn (I'm looking at you, Harkins Theatres).

I haven't been to an AMC theater since 2018, my go to theaters are Movie Tavern and Cinemark these days. Because of the comfortable seats.

2018? My headcannon is that you stopped going to AMC theaters because the last movie you saw there was The Predator.

No AMCs in my state, and this being one night only on a weekday means I probably won't be able to get to one the next state over. :'(

Hate limited releases so much at times like this. I just want to see Prey in a theater, damn it.
  11. Xenotaris
Eh, I already own Prey on Blu-ray so I will watch it at home prior to seeing Badlands in theaters at my cinemark or movie tavern theater. I would go to an AMC but they don't have the comfortable reclining seats.
