The Forecast Is Grim In New Alien: Earth Poster

As the countdown continues to Alien: Earth’s premiere on August 12th, the marketing machine for FX and Noah Hawley’s Alien series continues to work hard to keep the Xenomorph’s debut on the “small screen” in everyone’s minds. Another poster, continuing with the theme of putting our homeworld in danger, has been released!

The forecast is grim. Just not the one we expected. FX’s Alien: Earth. 8.12 on FX Networks | Hulu.

I'm expecting the first season to focus on the Neverland island. Have that get blown up at the end. The characters (assume they) stop that infestation.
2nd Season - Prodigy City full infestation. Gets contained and nuked at end of season.

Eventually, within that timeframe of the 2 seasons - WY sends the orders up to the Nostromo.

then if anything else gets made i'm expecting a big timeskip - Move to post Alien3, maybe even post Resurrection.
Would Noah change series name with each big "story arc" and move out of Earth?

The "it's own thing" parallel universe approach could be done, of course. To me that would still be ridiculous, but absolutely plausible with how the minds of these creatives work.

One catch though. It's being marketed as being 2 years before Alien. So I'm guessing they at least won't retcon the first film. Which still leaves a 2 year gap of just waiting at least. Since Ripley wasn't aware of anything going sideways, as neither of the crew was, that meant that the spread can't be widely known for at least a year or so after the series starts.

Didn't Hawley say it was meant to be it's own thing? However I'd figure it's going to go the AVP mishmash route along with Predator: Badlands. Really excited to see this, especially after the initial WY operational day to day drama rumors to full blown aliens everywhere trailers.

However for this to make sense the aliens are going to f'ing die to a small bunch of robots. Kinda hard to wave my gogo xenoflag with much enthusiasm when all they do is die.

Yeah, that fact does seem kind of mean though. They're teasing us with something we know can't happen. Parallel universes would be ridiculous. The only way a take over would work was if season one was the setup, and then we have a huge time skip and season 2 was post Alien 3, and then we get the full takeover. Which seems very convoluted and not likely at all.

So I'm betting this is just a mean tease of things we know can't and won't happen.

I really like the posters but I mean come on, all these aliens are dead by the time Big chap makes his his debut so it's all rather melancholy. There is no Earth Take over unless we talking parallel universe.

I hope this turns out to be based on the fact it's a non human born Xeno and these are the characteristics of what that animal is that "birthed" it.

I'm still looking forward to watching this show, just not crazy about the design of the Xeno at this time.

I agree fully. Nonetheless, everything else looks well planned and I trust in Noah Hawley´s writing skills.
