Came across that neat detail today.

Also just wondering if this is the location Babou Ceesay mentioned in the SFX interview being his memorable time on the series.
Could very well be the case! It sounds like they were being very creative with how they were filming this show, throughout all the episodes. So he could have also been referring to something else.

Without me going to double-check it, looks kinda like the beach we see the security folk in in the trailers. Also, this tickles me:

QuoteFor Episode 8 of Alien: Earth, the production team chose the breathtaking landscapes of Koh Yao Noi and Loh Roi, just a short distance from Phuket. With its dramatic limestone cliffs, untouched beaches, and crystal-clear waters, the area provided the perfect setting for the eerie, otherworldly atmosphere that the Alien franchise is famous for.

Quote'Wow, F--k Me.' The One Big Ridley Scott-Related Note Alien: Earth's Team Got When They Got The Greenlight

It's a story that's fit to print, and SFX on CinemaBlend was able to exclusively nab it through early interviews for Noah Hawley's series. Set to debut this August, another party that was on hand to discuss the process was Scott Free's Chief Creative Officer, David W. Zucker. Sharing Mr. Scott's surprise when seeing one of Alien: Earth's vehicles, Zucker offered the following:

When Ridley first saw it, he was like, 'Wow, f**k me. I know that ship, and I know that world.' While still being able to have some intimacy and some connectivity to what you may have experienced before, you certainly need not have seen the films to enjoy what's been crafted here.

I'm still on the fence if this is going full aliens everywhere.  Imagine if the aliens discover coffee and cream and just become construction workers. You know like by "The PERFECT ORGANISM" David really meant "PREFECT EMPLOYEE". David is a company bot.

Don't underestimate the damaging potential of a sharp or piercing object in the hands of someone with superhuman strength. We live in a world with countless firearms and countless deaths from sharp weapons.
Meanwhile the Alien bleeds a very potent acid.

It's a horrible weapon against aliens, but it makes perfect sense that they would use it before the Maginot crashed. Anyway  at close range, pulse rifles and smart guns are even worst.

But you have the option to use it at mid-long range, which the blade have not.

So it would be wise to have both if you have superhuman physical strength, less acid splash at short range.

That would be like going to war or hunting down dangerous criminals with a spear, a battle axe, a warhammer, a crossbow or a bow and arrow. You just don't use those antique weapons since they were rendered obsolete by guns and explosives.

With the correct lighting and a dab of slime applied it looked really good from this side profile in Imax. The doginess of the mouth tendons was obscured and what details did stand out looked great.

Yep, I saw that teaser before 28 Years. Pretty cool getting it on a big screen; makes me eager for the next Alien film.

If it has David in it.

David will definitely be in it, in an elephantine bone costum...fighting a predator.
He's also going to do flute lessons with Andy.
