New Alien: Earth Official Teaser – Save Yourself

FX Networks seems to be going full throttle when it comes to releasing more Alien: Earth trailers. This time, a teaser named Save Yourself has come out with a good number of new scenes. Besides the first official trailer, this makes it the third teaser trailer released in the past week, following Collision and Containment. It shows many characters from the series being afraid of what seems to be an escaped Alien, after which we see quick cuts of background carnage by the creatures itself. Check out the trailer below!

  1. Still Collating...
Took me some time to realize what everyone is talking about. Now I got it, the Alien in the shadow looks like it has a crazy thick neck. But as others have pointed out, that's just the shoulder pad tube things. We've seen most of the suit, the neck looks fine.

The little back tubes do looks strange (even if this is an animal hybrid), they're just ugly. They should've just removed them if they wanted it that small anyway.

Most of the design is okay, it's just that damn face. That hanging jaw is so low. But as long as the thing is in shadows and the cuts with it are quick, I'm all for it. Just please let that thing be killed early on and let another better designed alien take up the runtime. That's my foolish hope...

I would like to think the shoulder tubes and the neck are getting blended together in the shot with the shadows. If the head/dome is tilted back, it overlaps those tubes more I guess. So it's maybe even more exaggerated cause of that? Still a fat neck nonetheless...

It definitely has a big neck, but I do think that it's the shoulder pad blending in with its neck in the thumbnail, because the back of the shoulder pad has the same curve then on the thumbnail.

Oh no, I'm infected with the link curse!

I actually really like the super spindly body that Covenant's Aliens have, especially as a "fleshy," early model Alien, before it's finalized into the Big Chap we all know and love. The overall form allows it to contort and bend in some pretty interesting ways, which I would really love to see expanded on with the Aliens in general.

Covenant offers a much, much better take on an Alien lacking in biomechanics than what we got in Resurrection, IMO.

I think part of the point of it coming from an animal in this, might be what a friend of mine pointed out about Alien³ showing it hosting in one, being that it makes the Alien an existential threat to life beyond humanity.

For me it has to be Alien. But it's more than the design it was the weirdness of how it moved and the music that accompanied it which made it more alien and gave it an added suspense. It was like if the darkness was given form. Like a golem is made from clay the alien was made from darkness. I loved that Alien and the scene when Ripley goes back to stop the self destruct system still scares me! Seriously the camera just had to pan around to reveal the Alien and you felt uncomfortable. All the other aliens in the series were like props. They did the job, but they didn't rekindle the original fear and suspense.

Best design is the OG. There's nothing monsters about it. It's just weird and creepy and off putting.

By the time you get to Alien 3 onwards it's becoming more beastly.

There is a lot of talk about the Xeno design here. I am very curious about what design of the beast you guys really liked?

For me I loved the alien 3 design, it looked wild, vicious and lethal.

Quote from: Cornbread on Jun 12, 2025, 06:10:32 AMI just watched a video that attributes basically most of the names in the series to Peter Pan. I'm sure they'll give the Alien a name that fits in with this. What that is g_d only knows. Dolly I'm guessing is going to be the unwilling host though.

    He's clearly hook.  ;)
Well yea that giant meat hook in his little mouth does suggest that.

Im gonna be honest, it may not have the elegance of the runner nor be as aesthetically pleasing as Big Chap, but given context (that it likely comes from an animal host) I actually don't mind it at all.. the runner had no dorsal tubes at all, it stands to reason a xeno born from another quadruped mammal may have differing characteristics... the neck isn't great, no, but then if we look at some of the Kenner variants, at least it isn't the proportions of gorilla alien - they could have went crazy with the whole sheep variant 🤣

I love how violent it is in these trailers, giving serious runner vibes - I actually can't wait to see it in action! 😃 (and I'll still probably buy the inevitable NECA figure) 🤣

yeah it's blending the text and link.

it's the ugliest alien since Requiem.

At least it looks like it's gonna make up for it in speed and kills.

And we have at least one other design in the show.. Not losing sleep over it.

Quote from: locusta on Jun 11, 2025, 10:18:28 PMYes, Mike is right. The neck does look bad in that shot. And the design choices of this particular Xeno are questionable, but maybe have a reason. This photo of the full suit, what was shown last December, shows the neck not that fat. But who knows.

The angles are helping hide the neck here, but I can still tell it's a fat one from these shots. It's all in the design, the made it so a guy's head can fit in there, which makes sense. They just didn't shoot it well enough to hide it, and any attempt is with flashing lights and quick cuts it seems.

(Not sure if it's turning my text into a link for everyone, but every time I edit or post it's making it one for some reason.)

Yes, of course a mix. Like in the JP but with an adjustment for time. If pure CGI then Avatar-level quality what is, probably, unattainable.

To reach the same level of cgi from Avatar, you would need to be on the same level of perfectionism that Cameron has and that's not something that everyone could pull off for a tv show.

Satellite, some form of gateway station?

Apologies if this has been discussed beforehand.

From what we know, that is a...

    Spoiler
Space station that the ship smashes though. Not Gateway. It was in some earlier stuff and then wasn't, but I guess they brought that idea back.

    And if you want more...

    Spoiler
The space station is infiltrated by Weyland-Yutani cyborgs, they take control in an attempt to "catch" the Maginot. But the ship doesn't slow down and smashes through the station instead.

    Spoiler
That's giving me a lot of The Lost World vibes, specifically when the ship crashes into the San Diego port.
