Another short Alien: Earth teaser has been released, entitled Collision Imminent which lasts for 42 seconds and includes some new footage from the show. It starts by showing some landscape shots of Earth before moving onto Prodigy City. There are various shots from the FX series before there’s a scene featuring three dropships taking off. The iconic Xenomorph appears at the very end of the Alien: Earth teaser.
Alien: Earth will premiere Tuesday, August 12th, with the first two episodes releasing on FX at 8 p.m. ET/PT, and on Hulu at 8 p.m. ET. Alien: Earth with premiere its first two episodes in the UK on Disney+ the day after, on August 13th, with a new episode out each Wednesday.

After all the absurdity (and complete disregard for Alien films) brought by the prequels and Romulus, I wouldn't be surprised at all. Actually I think now this is exactly how it's going to be.
This would be the final nail in the coffin, Ripley's arc and sacrifice erased like it never meant anything. But yay, cool monsters and robots I guess.
Visually, the trailer looks good. If they manage to keep the series as a stand alone event and not include any of that crap mentioned above, I'll watch and pay for it.

Maybe they tried to disengage it thinking it would kill the eggs but one section was accidentally left on which led to the events of the first movie.
It's not exactly the same, but I'm getting vertibirds vibes from Fallout.
They're only 'dropships' if they ferry personnel etc from orbit into the atmosphere. Visual similarities aside, these seem to be just VTOL aircraft of some variety.
