Fans asked for it, they’re getting it! Survios have just announced (via IGN) that Alien: Rogue Incursion is getting an enhanced and upgraded non-VR version of Alien: Rogue Incursion on PC and PS5!

Alien: Rogue Incursion – Part One, a single player action-horror game set in the Alien universe, is getting an upgrade. And you won’t even need a VR headset to play. Alien: Rogue Incursion – Part One: Evolved Edition hits PlayStation 5 (PS5) and PC September 30, 2025 and features “even deadlier Xenomorphs and enhanced visuals.”

Alien: Rogue Incursion – Part One: Evolved Edition is currently slated for release September 30, 2025, and will come as a Standard Edition ($29.99) and a Digital Deluxe edition ($39.99). PC players are also able to Wishlist the Evolved Edition on Steam now.

Survios will also be showing off the Evolved Edition at IGN Live, which will be taking place in Los Angeles on June 7th and 8th.

  1. Still Collating...
Well damn, they keep on having the most unique issues with Steam.

Yes, people are now really mad on the Steam discussion boards that this happened. It's one thing to have it be bought separately from the start, which is still IMO a bad marketing move since they should reward their VR adopters, but it's a completely different gut punch to see you get the thing in your library, get your hopes up that you're being rewarded for supporting the game, and then have it removed from your library, just as your hopes got up.

That is quite a blunder on their part.

I'm still really excited for the game, but they need to be a lot more careful with how they release this version this time around.

Makes sense to release a very well received VR game into a more conventional FPS. Bigger market for sales. 2022 stats estimated only 7% of the US Gaming market use VR.

Sooo... is this a whole separate release? As in, if you own the original version this isn't available as an upgrade? Would you have to swap between two different games if you wanted to play VR or non-VR?

Need clarification here, this thing hasn't been out all that long and we're still waiting on part two. It's a bit confusing.

I thought it looked like a prerendered cinematic! Holy moly! Now the cringe moment when they list the PC minimum requirements to run it at 1080[ HD 60fps.

I have a very beefy computer that can run any (new) game perfectly on the highest settings, besides Alien: Rogue Incursion. This game runs terribly, it's optimized so badly that for me it's unplayable. I hope that they'll optimize the VR version now that they're also releasing a flat screen version...

Quote from: Corporal Hicks on May 08, 2025, 03:29:04 PMI am genuinely impressed that Survios has done this and made it accessible in non-VR. Really really impressed.

It's definitely not something I ever expected to happen. I'd never even considered getting it due to not owning a VR headset, but now I might have to give it a look....or at least think about whether to hold off until Part 2 eventually comes out for PS5 like this too.
