Ok. I need to jump in before people start buying versions they may not be happy with later. First, you all might want to check out the review of these guys as well since they've had like half an hour with the game and are VR experienced. They talk about the game starting at 58:43.

They seem to indicate that the game was being played in the demo with the Quest 3 through PC VR, but not natively. Plus, all of the footage of the gameplay we've seen has been captured on PC. The game is coming out in a month and a half and they've only showed footage through PC (what's going to be Steam) VR using the Meta Quest 3. Even then, the games so close to release and still seems to have performance issues, so I'm not sure what is the better option.
Reading up on the Native vs PCVR debate, it really depends on your PC if it can handle it, a better headset might even slowdown your game if you're using it on PCVR when your PC can't handle it properly. I don't understand all of the nuance here, but I recommend you all do your own research so that no one buys anything that won't work well for their situation.
I reccomend reading up on the stuff for any of us who don't usually play with VR and know how to set things up:
Does a better VR headset make a PCVR game run better on the same PC, or does it not matter what I buy for pcvr

Quote from: Corporal Hicks on Yesterday at 05:00:38 PMI was planning to buy on Steam VR and then run through the Quest as it'll be powered by the PC rather than the headset. I'm not sure how much of a difference that will make with performance, but I'm guessing there will be some.
If you have a good graphics card (equivalent of at the very least a Nvidia 3060 and upwards) it seems you'll be okay. If not, then playing it natively on the Meta Quest 3 would maybe be better.

Quote from: The Biomechanoid on Today at 10:07:16 AMHoping to be able to play this on my trusty Vive Pro. From what I've read so far it should be able to play on any headset compatible with Steam VR, which my Vive is. The OLED display on the Vive is really key to making a dark game look good for the eyes.
On Steam it specifically states which VR headsets through Steam VR are supported and they are: Valve Index, Meta Rift S, Quest 2 and Quest 3. So make sure you can play it on your VR headset before you buy.

    Any tech/performance savvy members here?

I am probably going to get a quest 3 soon. Now I wonder, should I get Rogue Incursion natively on the quest or buy it on steam? You think Ill get more out of it running it via my PC?

The game is developed with the quest 3 in mind so it shouldn't be much of a downgrade to get it natively?

How is the @Corporal Hicks tackling this?

Hrm. Cannon Fodder. Don't get me wrong, Zula 100% looking like a Military Mommy but... I feel like Xenomorphs being "Kill me now rawr" is kinda.. Well.. Overdone... I would like a game like this but with the Xenomorphs AI learning from the player and adapting to everything we do to challenge us.

Quote from: Corporal Hicks on Oct 26, 2024, 07:43:00 AM* The AI of the Aliens all decide what they're doing separately. So you can have 6 different Aliens approaching you differently.
    * Some funny stories of playtesters screaming in the studios, throwing off their headsets and etc.
reminds me of CA's tests for isolation.
If we're lucky, Rogue Incoursion will be similarly exciting. But what has been shown so far about Xeno Action hasn't convinced me yet. They still seem too much like cannon fodder to me.

Quote from: Xenomorph Nerd on Oct 28, 2024, 06:18:09 PMWas hoping that the Alien Romulus inspired weapon skin would actually be the F44AA pulse rifle and not just a simple texture on the pre-existing pulse rifle in-game...

It's a lot more to do a new model, so I'm not too surprised there, but I am equally disappointed in these incentives. They're just not really interesting to me.
Simply giving the pre-existing rifle a remodel shouldn't be much effort for a studio at all. The re-texture they made instead can easily be done in under 10 minutes by one intern...
