They seem to indicate that the game was being played in the demo with the Quest 3 through PC VR, but not natively. Plus, all of the footage of the gameplay we've seen has been captured on PC. The game is coming out in a month and a half and they've only showed footage through PC (what's going to be Steam) VR using the Meta Quest 3. Even then, the games so close to release and still seems to have performance issues, so I'm not sure what is the better option.
Reading up on the Native vs PCVR debate, it really depends on your PC if it can handle it, a better headset might even slowdown your game if you're using it on PCVR when your PC can't handle it properly. I don't understand all of the nuance here, but I recommend you all do your own research so that no one buys anything that won't work well for their situation.
I reccomend reading up on the stuff for any of us who don't usually play with VR and know how to set things up:
Does a better VR headset make a PCVR game run better on the same PC, or does it not matter what I buy for pcvr
If you have a good graphics card (equivalent of at the very least a Nvidia 3060 and upwards) it seems you'll be okay. If not, then playing it natively on the Meta Quest 3 would maybe be better.
On Steam it specifically states which VR headsets through Steam VR are supported and they are: Valve Index, Meta Rift S, Quest 2 and Quest 3. So make sure you can play it on your VR headset before you buy.
I am probably going to get a quest 3 soon. Now I wonder, should I get Rogue Incursion natively on the quest or buy it on steam? You think Ill get more out of it running it via my PC?
The game is developed with the quest 3 in mind so it shouldn't be much of a downgrade to get it natively?
How is the @Corporal Hicks tackling this?
Half Life Alyx, AC Nexus, Batman (just released), Metro Awakening (coming this Nov), Resident Evil 4 (OG) and Alien.
VR players (especially Quest 3 for high immersion) are eating well these months.
Apparently a Predator VR is in the works but how real or how far they have gone is unknown as of around 2022.
If we're lucky, Rogue Incoursion will be similarly exciting. But what has been shown so far about Xeno Action hasn't convinced me yet. They still seem too much like cannon fodder to me.
It's a lot more to do a new model, so I'm not too surprised there, but I am equally disappointed in these incentives. They're just not really interesting to me.
