New Alien: Romulus Cocoon Concept Art from Adam Milicevic!

We’ve continued to see concept art shared from those who worked on Alien: Romulus, enough to fill a book! (wink, wink, 20th Century)

The film’s director Fede Álvarez has spoken on the collaborative nature of the pre-production process, where he would encourage multiple artists to run with each others’ designs. While we’ve previously seen some early concepts for the Xenomorph cocoon by artist Dane Hallett, effects artist Adam Milicevic has recently posted a number of digital sculptures showing explorations closer to the final look in the film. Milicevic worked with Legacy Effects on conceptual Xenomorph design elements including the wall-cocoon. Check them out below!

Adam Milicevic is a friend of the site, and we previously commissioned him to do some t-shirt designs for us. He also recently illustrated a new apparel design for us paying tribute to an offhand comment by Fede Álvarez.

Romulus is not Adam’s first official work in the Alien franchise, as he was previously the creative lead for the Halloween Horror Nights AVP Maze at Universal Studios Japan, did conceptual work for merchandise offered by The Bradford Exchange, and also illustrated a Dark Horse comic advertisement for the Japanese market. Be sure to give him a follow on Instagram, ArtStation, and X if you’d like to see more of his work.

We’ll be on the lookout for more of Adam’s art, as he also collaborated with Legacy Effects’ Scott Patton on other adult Alien elements such as the inner jaws, limbs, and tail.

I'm still wondering what really went on behind the scenes in Bjorn's encounter with the wall vagina. I could imagine that Fede might have thought of a real acid shower that would completely decompose Bjorn, similar to the guy from Robocop.
Maybe the studio slowed him down a bit.
but maybe it was actually implemented as planned.
The tameness in almost all the deaths and especially in the behavior of the creatures made me quite suspicious.
Certainly not bad for Disney but for an alien film by Alvarez?
I mean, the gore factor isn't the focus of any film, but I expected a lot more in terms of brutality behind this direction.
