Moments ago, Alien: Romulus had its premiere at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles, California. Director Fede Alvarez and Ridley Scott were seen on the red carpet along with cast members Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn, Aileen Wu and Archie Renaux. Reactions from people have started to come out.
The social media embargo is over too and the reaction has been overwhelmingly positive. Many of them call Alien: Romulus a great addition to the Alien franchise with tense scares, striking visuals and excellent sound design. Lots of reactions reference the shocking third act of the film. You can find many people who loved it but there are also a few people who didn’t like it. Here’s a selection of tweets.
ALIEN: ROMULUS is mostly … fine for the first two thirds. Though, *really* enjoyed the more gnarly, disturbing, much more unique third act and wish the whole movie had been like that. Also stop playing with these aliens! They seem dangerous! #alienromulus

#AlienRomulus had me on the edge of my seat with suspense. Fede Alvarez understood the assignment and passed with flying colors. As a fan, I loved the new elements and twists that were introduced. This has breathed new life into the Alien franchise and could be one of the best. pic.twitter.com/ZAt81ddIJa

#AlienRomulus is quite great, save for one creative choice near the end that took me out. Incredible and immersive production and sound design guides the unwavering tension from start to finish. #CaileeSpaeny is solid, #DavidJonsson is the standout. Good stuff from #FedeAlvarez! pic.twitter.com/1OUcXfjnx2

Our own Mike’s Monsters on the forum said it was a solid entry to the franchise with lots of creature action.
ALIEN ROMULUS@fedalvar delivers a solid entry to the franchise. Intense, action-packed, full of LOTS of Xenomorph & Facehugger chaos, with a wild final act.
It might be the ALIEN film fans have wanted since ALIENS in 1986 (minus Ripley, Hicks & Newt).
It's a good one! pic.twitter.com/4CTpci383M

So, does the embargo end at midnight tonight when it turns to the 14th? Or tomorrow night? Just curious

Very divisive, from what I'm seeing. Which is incredibly exciting, if you ask me. I happen to tend to fall into the "love it" camp on the more divisive elements in this franchise.
Have my IMAX ticket for Thursday.....ready to go.
I thought about going to see it tomorrow night, but with my anxiety I'd rather go when it's quiet. First chance I get on Thursday I'm going.
Sorry 14th
No, but really, I don't think I realized it's actually pronounced "A-lean", and that you can easily rearrange the letters in it to spell... Or maybe I did and just forgot about it.
I imagine she wasn't able to get out of filming for Knives Out 3.. similar to David Jonnson currently filming The Long Walk.
It is interesting though since she's the lead of this movie, you'd think this would've fit into her schedule somehow though.
She wont get out of my bed. Grrrrrr
