[Exclusive] First Draft of Paul Anderson’s Alien vs. Predator Finally Available!

Today marks the 20th anniversary of the release of Paul W.S Anderson’s Alien vs. Predator. We released our retrospective podcast earlier today, and we wanted to give the Alien and Predator community a gift to enjoy after listening to us!

Regular members of the Alien vs. Predator Galaxy community know how much interest I have in script development of the films and how excited I get to uncover previously unseen drafts of the scripts, so imagine my excitement when I had the opportunity to finally get my hands on the very first draft of Alien vs. Predator!

This isn’t a scan of the physical draft I purchased, but rather a transcription of it written into Final Draft. I retained all the formatting and spelling mistakes of the original but thought it would be distracting to upload a scan with all crew watermarks still on the script.

Written by Paul W.S Anderson and dated November 25th, 2002, this draft features numerous differences from the finished film. I won’t spoil it and put all the differences, but I’ll list some bigger interesting changes below.

• Rather than the 1904 opening in Antarctica, this draft features the Cambodia 2000BC prologue.
• Charles Bishop Weyland is nowhere to be seen! Instead, this draft features an original character in his place, Charles Benton.
• There are five Predators and two PredAliens.
• Quinn survives his encounter with the Predator to reappear later in the film.
