The marketing for Alien: Romulus is at full thrusters as we’re now less than two weeks away from the release of the film! We’ve started to see more TV spots, international trailers, and clips showing us more of what we can expect when we finally go on the terrifying journey with this group of young Jackson’s Star colonists.
Recently posted as short form video spots to Instagram Reels and YouTube shorts, there are three new adverts, two of them highlighting Romulus’ place in the wider Alien universe. The first video even utilizes the original tagline for the 1979 film, ‘A word of warning’, before the film ultimately went with the more well known ‘In space, no one can hear you scream’. The second shows off when Romulus takes place during the Alien timeline, and the third illuminates on connections with the original film.
Some of what is shown and heard here hasn’t really been shown off before, so beware spoilers!

Yeah, I was thinking about asking about his perspective on marketing when he comes on.
It's actually been tracking very well.
Yeah, I'm somewhat surprised/disappointed myself. They'd been so damn restrained, and I'd been enjoying the pace of what we got. They just completely went to town on these tv-spots.
Greed is creed for them.
And seems like it's working for them. Can only imagine the numbers will climb faster after these ads.
I don't mind it since no one is forcing me to watch these ads.
I would love an interview with Fede asking how he feels about everything released after the initial trailer and teaser cause this is just freaking ridiculous.
I feel bad for the guy they did so good keeping everything a secret and these panzees have ruined some of that hard work within 2 weeks after years of development. Very unfortunate.
Can't imagine Alvarez is happy about this
The preorders are actually tracking really well.
Confirms multiple Aliens.
Man, marketing is just releasing a lot aren't they?

The marketing had been admirably restrained until recently. A shame they've let that slide.
IMAX tickets now booked for opening night regardless!

Really don't know why they decided to blow their load in these last few weeks.
It looked like a storage room, it was dark and the hugger smacks againt the window when someone peeps in.
If you're traveling at faster-than-light speed and your sensors pick up an object ahead of you, before you can respond it is literally millions of miles BEHIND you. Even Star Trek, which I love, was constantly guilty of this sort of thing.
Infinity War might be the biggest offender: the 6 infinity stones were sent "hurtling through the universe" yet they are all found in one small quadrant of one of BILLIONS of galaxies. Sure that happened.
So yes there is no way "Big Chap" (I HATE that nickname, doesn't even sound scary) is ever found. It would be like searching the entire globe for a grain of sand that was randomly put somewhere.
If it's the hugger at the very beginning, that clip was in all the first look/behind the scenes clips that came out about a month back or so. This is pretty much the same video, with just different subtitles to match the language of the country it's being shown to.
I can't understand all these videos on YouTube spoiling everything and picking every tiny detail apart.

Thank you! Geez, if you lot were in a room together irl we wouldn't need another alien film we could just let the camera roll on all the drama! 😂
Honestly I thought the opposite. It makes more sense in my head that a wholly artificial lifecycle without an original egg/queen would look and act significantly different. That's just an in-universe justification though.
In reality..... you would have thought that after 45 years SOMEONE would have realised they nailed it the first time around and constantly trying to redo and remix an already perfect design is a fool's errand. Alas, egos are gonna ego.

I think BC may have eventually drifted into the orbit of a nearby planet, and WY just found it by scanning nearby planets, maybe with mining ships.
I also think WY did go to the derelict and surgically removed the facehuggers and placed them in stasis in romulus. A synthetic or robot could safely remove the hugger without danger. This could be where the trailers for romulus tie in as the blue mist that was on the derelict is present and looks to trigger the facehuggers. WY must have replicated the engineer tech.
What is the inner mouth coming out of in the last trailer, because that is NOT a standard xeno head.

That shot has something to do with a scene Fede describes in an interview as being something (paraphrasing) "never having been done before in humanity". I could swear it's related to Kay and the "disgusting" scene, but in my limited searching I haven't been able to find the article linking them that I read at the time, so I could just be conflating things in my head, but I did just find the former article again a few days ago.
I wonder how many aliens we will actually see on the station as if it was over run then the whole crew on board the station would be dead incubators. Also the shots with bloody cryo tubes...
Personally I cannot wait for the film to burst out of our screens.
No experience with this, sorry!
