Perfect Organism Podcast Interviews Fede Alvarez

During the San Diego Comic-Con where Alien: Romulus had a panel with the cast and director, multiple outlets have had the opportunity for interviews. Not surprisingly, the good folk over at Perfect Organism had the opportunity to speak to the director, Fede Alvarez, in person.

Among the standout pieces of information, Fede talks about his approach to directing the actors on set, the role of improvisation, the relationship between music and sound design and more of his extended thoughts on the rest of the Alien (and Alien vs. Predator) films. Be sure to check out the video from Perfect Organism Podcast for more details.

Quote from: Darkness on Jul 30, 2024, 05:26:16 PMYeah, I listened to this earlier today. I was impressed they managed to interview him but it's always hard to do interviews with cast and crew before a movie comes out as they never give much away.

This is precisely why I have no interest in pre-release interviews anymore and don't pursue any. I'd rather be able to sit down with a guest and talk about everything in context of the project they worked on.

Yes! I loved this. It's a really healthy perspective to take on something you work on. I hate putting effort and work into something and just *crickets*.

I love to hear him speak about the film and the previous films. He shows a lot of passion and understanding for and of the franchise.

    Loved this interview.

I was concerned when I watched the first ever teaser, I saw the age of the cast and I immediately thought it was going to be Twilight in space (no disrespect to Twilight fans, but not my cup of tea). But the more I have seen and heard, the more I like.

I loved his analogy of Alien3 and likening how it destroyed all the things we loved about Aliens before it, to how we said `F**k GnR and then embraced Grunge' in the 90s.

Fede comes across as a very cool and likeable guy. Whatever the outcome of the film, it can be said he really does love these films and put his heart and soul into it.

    Explains some things 😅

    Yeah, sorry! 😅😅

Yes, that was one of the biggest take aways I got from this interview. Love it or hate it he aims to make an impression. I could get behind that.

BUT ANYWAYS. It was great hearing the PO guys talk with Fede. I had dinner with them a few nights before this happened. Very good dudes.

Quote from: Mike's Monsters on Jul 30, 2024, 07:51:24 PMCan confirm the grass helps lower the judgement of the film. Same goes for Prometheus and Covenant.

Pffft. Prometheus might need a little bit of Fifield's respirator tobacco to help with the bumpy script and editing, but Covenant goes down totally smooth all on its own. ;)

It's the visuals that get elevated with the stoney. They're already great on their own, but I get absolutely sucked in if I've got the right stuff. It helps me get passed the weird editing and character choices. Otherwise, I get beyond frustrated watching either of them! Covenant has gotten easier over time.

Don't do drugs, kids. I'm actually 90 days sober today. :)

I caught this early this morning, it was an enjoyable chat! I love his outlook that he'd rather we hate on the movie than be indifferent lol. And now we know why we've been disappointed with AVP all these years, we've been watching it all wrong.

I did chuckle when he said he first saw AvP when he was really high and loved it.
