Occasionally when new and highly anticipated films come to theaters, sizable marketing displays are put up to impress. While we’ve already seen a large standee version of the red-toned facehugger poster, it seems some theaters may get an exceptionally prominent display.
Posted by Zed Kosnar over on X (Formerly Twitter) is a look at a life-sized movie theater display of the new Romulus Xenomorph apparently nicknamed ‘Scorched.’ This seems to be a very accurate representation of the design from the film. Check out the shot below!
We can only hope we’ll be able to see the imposing presence of this Alien display in our local cinemas.

Oh yeah you're right, I see it now! Can't wait to see all the good shots of this bad boy in the film.
Those are practical fingers doing the breaking into their normal shape in the trailer. Not CGI.
Not CGI hands / fingers?
I'm grateful to an extent but I already know this has that ADI stamp, thing all over it..
If you look at the original , a lot of how it looks is due to limitations of materials technology working in its favour under the lighting, camera team and Scotts direction. That combined with the vision and sculptural skill of Giger, which was an aesthetic totally unique to him, and the technical genius of Carlo Rambaldi, produced something not captured before or since.
A good example of what Im talking of is the lips and tendons for the main guy which were constructed with wire and condoms. This behaved in a way that cast sculpts in rubber cannot replicate. The stretched condoms were transparent, the wire structure giving him a unique ,leering expression where the metal teeth were clearly visible through the lips. Plus the layers of airbrushed colours, oil and peeling latex they used.. Created a very strange effect on film...Liquid latex looks like no other modern rubber material used in film and you can see its effect on the original face hugger too. Plus old formula ky jelly and actual organic material made the Alien elements convincingly real despite some notable animatronic limitations.. Giger sculpted this thing using machine parts, bones and plastaline and was it meant to look human , not insectoid or reptilian...
This one looks expertly sculpted by hand top to bottom and cast using silicone for the mouth tendons which look terrible imo, and their work always has the same mouth gape which has no menace to it though the animatronic dexterity is really well done. ... ADI guys are very good at what they do. Their best work for alien was their suit from alien 3 imo. They literally copied Gigers textures from necronomicon into sculpture and even copied the colour palette. Even that was shot badly and transplanted with a dumb rod puppet which looked crap . So bad I think that their creature looks better in video suit tests than the actual film. Their later versions looked more and more like dinosaurs or pumkinhead the demon though I am sure part of this is at the request of designers and producers, etc..
I hope I am wrong and in the film it works better in different scenes than in the trailer.. I appreciate Fede wants to do something that takes in the look of the whole franchise , but as others have said . I feel they have really missed an opportunity to capture the original persona of Gigers creation, while fan artists seem to get it spot on. I feel very disappointed by this after all the director said about it.. but hey, I could be talking crap and the film is gonna be amazing. I hope so and Ive come here and whinged for no good reason..haha.
We see it all and clear.
We see the brown and amber in the trailers a few times. With the fingers unlocking into the proper position (all practical effects there, by the way), and the side profile shot of Scorched.

Granted, the color correction here pulled the saturation down a lot, and the backlighting makes it harder to see. It was very brown and amber in the early cut I saw, and in the effects studio when I saw it in person.
My first thought when I saw it was that someone took the inaccurate McFarlane movie maniacs Alien 3 figure and gave it better posture;

Also, some speculation in keeping with the Alien 3 inspiration and comparisons, whilst in the other thread I posted this image and hypothesised that the Alien may have an extended chest to tuck its head forward in a foetal position (this one: )

Looking at these new photos, the rear also looks to be able to accommodate the head.. I'm now wondering if it can actually pull in its neck tortoise-like, to give it a hunched posture like the level guardians in the Alien 3 SEGA Genesis game ;

And why are people thinking Scorched is Big Chap everywhere. It's been made clear it's not him. It's the experiment chap. Aka Son of Big Chap injured by a electo prod whilst in a cocoon
Sexy legs!

I quite like really nimble/skinny legs on the Alien. Loved Stickbug's spindly limbs in Covenant, too.
celebrating HR Giger.
I'm sure they like to change the for design so it can be used for merchandise rather than than artistic integrity.
It's not this creature I'm concerned about in Alien Rommy.
Do you reckon that the brown/amber parts will be visible in the movie at times? Because from what they've shown us, with the lighting and color grading it looks full black with a greyish/whitish dome!
I believe this to be the case as well.
Spoiler
Much better than the renders.
Agreed!
With that being said, I still like this design!! It's a different interpretation and in the right way. In fact, the chainsaw tail is really growing on me...
That whole era between AR and AvP-R was depressing, at least this design is taking a big step backwards to the original designs, albeit with some new bells & whistles.
