Funko POP Are Releasing New Alien: Romulus Figures!

Funko POP, the hugely popular vinyl figure makers, are going to be releasing four new Alien: Romulus figures! Their new releases include Cailee Spaeny’s Rain, her synthetic “brother” played by David Jonsson and two iterations of Alien: Romulus’ Xenomorphs, including the scarred appearance we’ve been seeing in a lot of the promotional material for the film which is nicknamed “Scorched” by Funko!

Funko POP Are Releasing New Alien: Romulus Figures!

While we’ve seen a lot of Alien: Romulus’ new take on the Aliens, this is the first look we’ve really had at the brown colouration they have. We’ve already previously seen the browner tones on the face-huggers, but it hadn’t been something that was very noticeable in the footage we’ve seen so far. Rain’s figure also comes with the prototype Pulse Rifle we’ve seen in previous publicity stills!

Funko previously released a number of POP figures for Alien: Covenant, as well as Alien and Aliens. According to Amazon, the Alien: Romulus Funko POPs are currently set for release in October.

I do love that clear dome look for the Alien Funkos. Might have to add these two to the collection. Covenant's Xenomorph is still my favorite of their Alien designs though. I thought the blue coloring was a nice pop of color.

Quote from: Mike's Monsters on Jul 10, 2024, 10:49:45 PMI don't have any official word, but I expect possibly SDCC we get a reveal of some type. If not, they'll be holding off until the film releases. It could be really any time now.

Think they'll do some of the humans?  I hope so.  I'll probably pick up a Rain and Andy just for the sake of having something to represent the humans, but I got out of collecting pops years ago for a reason.  I'd rather something like a NECA figure.

Funko pops are interesting but not really my thing, glad there are collectors who enjoy them, wonder as to when Neca will unveil their Alien Romulus line.

    Spoiler
wonder as to when they'll included a figure of the supposed New Laboratory created Creature

Still think these are two separate xeno's as one has extra claws on it's feet. Far out theory, but maybe the black goo returns and is used to turn a character into another xeno :o

I did, but I'm not seeing these extra claws in the trailer.

They might not exist in the final movie. They're not 100% accurate.

That's true. Even the Big Chap figure they released for Alien's 40th had the Resurrection-esque tail fins and blade.

I've got to say, I love the colouring! Alvarez has repeatedly shown that he wants to invoke aesthetics from the original trilogy, and this colouring is the perfect way to do it; if we assume big chap will have the typical silver/black aesthetic of 'Alien', then this colouring looks to be playing on the lighting in 'Aliens' - how some creatures looked blue/black, and some looked brown/black (of course, that wasn't actually the case and was done with set lighting, but I always liked that NECA gave the options when it came to colour on its 'Aliens' figures) these colours with the creature design (which definitely includes inspiration from both Alien 3 in regards to the head, and big chap / stompy in the body from the set photos we've seen), and dare I say; some Alien Resurrection in the striped markings on the dome) could well make this design a fan favourite to many.

The Funko has better mouth tendons than the actual thing (I'm sorry, I'll stop).

    Spoiler
Also pretty much confirms more than one Alien since the main guy gets scarred at "birth", so why would there be an unmanaged one, hmmmmmmm?

Yes. Like the facehuggers, the full grown Xeno is also brown. It's hard to tell with the color grading, but it's brown in the trailer too. An amber, brown tone. Light plays with the skin color well...

    And these aren't Big Chap.
