AMC Theatres Offering Incentives For Early Alien: Romulus Bookings & Teases Facehugger Popcorn Bucket

AMC Theatres over in the United States are offering a couple of incentives for those of you booking Alien: Romulus tickets early. AMC are having an early showing – a Fan Event on the 15th of August and those of you who book for that event will get an exclusive pin and Weyland-Yutani patch.

If you book with AMC on the 16th, 17th or 18th, you’ll only get the patch. There are no pictures of the pin but you can see the Weyland-Yutani patch below.

In related news, AMC have posted a teaser of their Facehugger Popcorn bucket that will be available to purchase. Collectable popcorn buckets seem to have increased in popularity in the last couple of years. Recently, AMC announced an R2D2 popcorn bucket for the re-release of The Phantom Menace and the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine will be getting similar collectables.

I have an AMC near me.  I dont go there usually, but if there's a neat pin I may have to make the trip!  We'll see what my work schedule is like at the time of screening.

The facehugger bucket will be at AMC theaters
The Alien head bucket will be at Regal theaters

Thanks for the update, I might have missed that somewhere if it's posted but appreciate the help.

& is Regal Theaters still owned by AMC, just different theaters?

No problem. There's another thread in here for movie theater promo stuff for Romulus that has a little more info and updates

I'm pretty sure they're owned by different companies. I've never seen both theater chains have the same exact promo merchandise. So it's going to warrant going to a AMC and a Regal if you want both buckets.

This is awesome news & just locked in tickets for the Fan Event 8/15! 8)

Been trying to avoid any content/footage from the ads and trailers, etc. But really really stoked for this movie & excited to have the Alien back in the theater experience on opening night as well!

Having been to a handful of them, a lot of these fan events are just a simple screening. Nothing much more. Maybe a poster or something too, but like we've seen we get the pin/patch. Since they are nation/world wide too, there may be a video intro at the beginning from Fede or something. But it's a normal screening of the film, just a day or so earlier than public release. Plus, it being a paid ticketed event, it helps them get an extra day to report on the box office sales.

Yeah in my experience it's just been a regular screening with a poster or something. And even then you can sometimes still get whatever goodies they have if they have some leftover.

I got a ticket for a imax screening on the 15th. Which is the same day as the fan screenings, but mine was not listed as a fan screening. So I'm hoping that I can still get the pin and patch by going that night.

I haven't found any pics of the pin yet.

I was wondering what the difference was for the "fan event". Might have to try and go for a pin. Thank you!
