Updated: Alien: Romulus ‘VHS Tape’ Features New Clip!

Various press outlets have received an Alien: Romulus VHS Tape that features a short clip from the film. Today, Fede Alvarez posted on his Instagram that he and 20th Century Studios released a new clip from the film – the only condition being that it’s released on VHS. A few press outlets have posted about receiving their copies today. You can check out the snazzy artwork below and a cam recording of the video clip in question.

Alien: Romulus 'VHS Tape' Features New Clip!

Fortunately, one of the press outlets, io9, has already uploaded the clip to YouTube. It’s 3 and a half minutes long, in obviously not very good quality, but it shows the crew of the Corbelan IV departing Jackson’s Star, their colony, and finding the Renaissance space station.

More so than for Covenant, Prometheus, AvPR, AvP, or AR. Not to say it will be a masterpiece or anything, but this could be the first time I've been fully entertained and satisfied by an alien flick in 32 years.
Yeah, yeah I can't see myself disliking this movie even tho I know about the spoilers.

Yeah I feel like they'd have to do some incredibly stupid shit that I can't even think of for me not to enjoy this one. It's ticking all the boxes

Andy is going to be a superb character. The actor is really doing a great job with nuances and ticks and confusion with humans. All the actors and characters look pretty unique and they have a great ensemble

I also used to give my singles away when I got the trades. I regretted doing that and have stopped doing that during the Marvel era. I also repurchased the Legacy boxset during the last few years too.

Hindsight eh. I am thinking of getting a few nice bottles of Red for my bro-in-law and saying hey can I have those back (yes I'll still feel like a dick though).

The Alien documentary in the Legacy set was great.

There are still special features only the 20th anniversary DVD has so I'm holding onto that for a long time.

Quote from: SiL on Jul 12, 2024, 10:40:35 AMI have the 20th anniversary VHS of Alien. I wonder if it still works

Nice!! My older brother has the original VHS release - lucky bugger!
For a while I had the 20th next to the 40th 4K disc just to feel a bit older and also see how home media tech has changed

Ha. I still have my Alien Saga boxet together with the DVDs, Blurays, 4Ks in my collection too. Getting old huh?  ;D
I've got the Alien Legacy discs but I had to get rid of boxes to make space during the move when we bought the house :'(

AH damn! I gave my Legacy and Quadrilogy boxsets to my brother-in-law when I got the Anthology. He did offer to give them back to me knowing I wish I had them but I'd feel like such a dick saying yes.

There's literally not one second of this scene that doesn't connect with everything I love about the franchise. If the whole movie has this feel it then it's going to be an utter success.

All of a sudden everywhere. It looks like they have added up on fx in a goodway. The English actors are great. Really looking forward to this🙏 📡

Quote from: solace97 on Jul 11, 2024, 11:33:47 PMWhy does it feel like today of all days everything Romulus is dropping one after the next

Tickets went on sale, which means today is the first day of the huge marketing push which will go through release.

I intend to not watch very much of what's to come in the next month. We've officially reached the other side of the fence, after the months-long drought where now we're going to be oversaturated in stuff that would be better left as surprises for opening night.
