Noah Hawley’s Alien Series To Begin Filming September 2023

Noah Hawley’s Alien series is currently expected to begin filming later this year in September 2023 according to the latest issue of Production Weekly. The Alien series was originally supposed to go in front of cameras in March 2022, but after numerous delays and the fifth season of Hawley’s other series, Fargo, well into production, it looks like the writer/director will be setting his sights back on Alien soon.

Speaking at the Television Critics Association virtual 2022 Summer Press Tour in August 2022, FX executive John Landgraf reported that all the scripts had been delivered. Then, at the start of 2023, Landgraf commented again during the Television Critics Association January Press Tour that the series had at that point entered active pre-production.

Details on Noah Hawley’s Alien series have been sparse. The most recent update revealed that Sydney Chandler had been cast as one of the series’ main characters, most likely Wendy. Thanks to several leaks – most likely from casting calls – we know that Wendy is the sister of Hermit, whose consciousness has been transferred into a synthetic body. Wendy is described as tall, athletic, and androgynous. Wendy is not a human instead she is a “Hybrid”, a superhuman who is essentially perfect. However, all is not as it appears with Wendy as she in fact has the mind of Hermit’s 10 year old sister Marcy. She learns how to live and control this new body under the tutelage of “Synth” scientist Kirsh and human scientist Dame Sylvia.

Wendy eventually becomes a leader to the hybrids and creates the path for a new era of enhanced beings. Wendy, once she reaches full development, will have super strength, speed, and agility combined with the limitless courage of a young mind. Wendy is not only a new being, but a tool of monumental value to the world.
