We were hoping we’d see something, anything, official from the new Fede Álvarez directed Alien movie currently in production in Budapest, and the Director has ensured we’re not disappointed!
Posted to his social media, Fede Álvarez is bringing us our first look at the set of Alien: Romulus (working title)! The filming clapboard, gripped by a facehugger prop, wishes ‘Happy Alien Day.’
We can see from this hallway an airlock indicator on the ceiling, as well as a listing for the environment’s reception. It’s possible this is aboard a Weyland-Yutani space ship or station. Also on the wall is an Emergency communication booth, which you might recognize as the save points from the 2014 game Alien: Isolation!
We can’t wait to see more on this upcoming Alien film!

Is it weird that after watching Fargo and before seeing these pics I was already thinking Hawley would be a better fit for Warhammer than Alien?
Well, looks like Hawley's going full medieval
*although a Millenian would be positively ancient by 2093.
Mr. Weyland might be one though...
Shit
Oh but there is a cell phone in Prometheus

Microsoft Surface Pro 4s though

Worst of all, the bloody millenians are probably going to be on their bloody phones all the time.
Dude, I'm seeing the same thing.
The whole shot looks like it's from a video game.
More like zoomers, here is a true millennial trying to survive a hostile environment...

You realise Millennials are pushing 40 now though, right? This is space-Zoomers and they're even more f**ked than us.
It's likely just a stunt piece.
What's unusual about it is that darker colouration.
It doesn't look like an elaborate prop that's really capable of any motion on its own right (no animatronics in the legs, tail, etc. as far as I can tell), so my best guess is that it's likely a stand in made by one of the effects houses to be used on set for reference (lighting, etc.) that will probably be replaced with a CGI rendition in the final film.
Could potentially be used in a "fixed" position (on someone's face), though.
Would you expect a reception area aboard a ship? That's something I would have thought be more for a facility, or a station.
Haha. Fair enough! We're on the same wavelength now.
Cobb's standard was the first detail I noticed. Then I saw the save point and just geeked the hell out. Whether that was something Fede instructed be put in there, or something set dec snuck in, I just love its inclusion. That put a genuine huge smile on my face.
There's definitely a darker hue to the facehugger and I like it. Someone mentioned a Queen Hugger - I get the vibes in that darker look, but doesn't seem to be any webbing on the feet. Regardless, it looks cool. The set looks great too.
Hmm, just a thought riffing on this, but yeah, maybe the entire active colony that we see in operation in the film is enclosed in this massive facility on the surface of a planet that is currently not viable for human life, and the actual terraforming of the atmosphere outside might be in progress rather than already complete as it was in Aliens...
Could make for a pretty exciting third act escape as the colony is exploding/caving in on itself/whatever and the survivor(s) has to suit up and make their way out onto the planet that's also actively trying to kill them.
My exact words...
Yeah, the wide spacious corridors and the "reception" area also has me leaning toward either a colony or a large Sevastopol style space station now.
Spaceship corridors are usually pretty cramped and claustrophobic and they don't usually have a reception area.
Could still be a very large spaceship of course but I think a colony might be more likely here.
That Isolation save point is a great touch though! I didn't notice that at first. Very nice little detail there.
Happy Alien Day!
Yes Please.
Would love a planet with a hostile environment; I long to see some space suits getting proper play planetside again. Though since this is set (at least partially) on a colony world, I'd imagine that the atmosphere should be breathable by the time the story picks up.
Could also be aboard a space station or a planet with a hostile atmosphere (hence the airlock) and "reception" I suppose.
