The Predator Uncloaks & Naru Fights in New Prey Video Clip

Another new Prey video clip has surfaced on the official Prey feeds. The short 16-second clip shows Naru preparing to hunt. She builds her tomahawk and practices on the tree like we’ve seen previously.

There’s a new shot of the Feral Predator partially uncloaking and another shot of Naru hitting the now-unmasked Predator with a spear in the dark forest. You can watch the new video clip below:

Quote from: SuperiorIronman on Jul 26, 2022, 02:36:03 PMThese basically aren't written as the kinds of films where you can do that. Sad endings are a tougher sell and your average movie goer wants a clean-cut ending. Unless they ever commit to Predator being a horror movie, we're not getting a film where it wins. And otherwise it's only because it's a prequel and chronologically it has to survive into the film where it dies or at minimum appears. Hollywood kind of expects the villain to get comeuppance. Writers don't really write things like that and the audience expects the hero to come out on top.

It's kind of a hard thing to write. You typically hate the villain, so seeing them get off is kind of boner kill. It's something that has to be written with enough care that your audience is gonna be cool with that and these films, Alien, Predator, or Terminator are not the things where you're able to take those risks without being damn sure. And they've gone wrong when Alien and Terminator pulled those stunts, we really shouldn't expect them to do that here.

Exactly.  If they ever did, I'd imagine it would have to be with a Predator characterization that we can somewhat empathize with - say, something along the lines of Ahab from the comics, or Kalakta from the novels, but not a character that goes throughout the whole movie silently mowing down its opponents.  That's not to say it wouldn't be interesting to see a Predator survive one of these days, but I wouldn't go out of my way to root for what's intended to be the villain.  Sure, it's not realistic to expect the hero to always win, but I think it would be pretty hard to make it work with the characterizations we've had thus far.
i wonder ifvit could be possible to have it from thevpredators point of view. The predator scenes in avpr were pretty good and would have worked great as a short film or part of an anthology or something.
I'd love to see a series of shorts or an anthology of some kind.  That would seem to be a perfect way of experimenting.  I'm not sure the Predator POV would be popular with fans, but I'd give it a shot for the sake of something different  :) I think it'd probably work better if used sparingly like in the AVP's.

Kinda hard to make out, but I'm definitely getting strong Predator(s) vibes from this, from story beats to how the feral Predator looks. The basic mold and structure of the original Predator really shouldn't need to be altered that much, particularly with the mouth and mandibles, but they continue to do so.
Honestly, it's an awful film, but the Wolf Predator from AVPR is still one of my favorite Predator designs, from the head and face, and even the body and the armor, and I feel is the best looking Predator we've gotten since P2.  It's distinctive enough from the original to feel different, but still maintains the basic idea of what it should look like.

I agree im tired seeing the predator lose .....highly advance and gets beaten by someone who ran for  her life from a bear in fear but can be an invisible alien......tsssss bull

I'm going to reserve my opinion for the final product and wait to see the movie myself. That being said, in that second of a clip I am not really seeing the predator face as I know it. Very difficult to see it's eyes but it's face, mandibles and head shape looks less predator and more I'm not sure what.

Again, reserving my true opinion of the design for the final release.

Yehh I remember your post, was trying to find it recently. I like what I see but I think I saw too much.

Quote from: Lionhart on Jul 25, 2022, 06:35:33 PMDefinitely not a fan of the
Uncloaking. This is suppose to be set 300 years before the first movie if I'm not wrong. I mean that uncloaking looked more futuristic than the old movies.

Quote from: RevPred on Jul 25, 2022, 06:24:55 PMI'm a little concerned about the look of unmasked feral. Looks more goofy than menacing.

Looks like a mix of all 3 predators from predator 2010

Well It's difficult imitate old movie effects through CGI, the way they did it back in 80s, it will always feel more modern. But I actually like the way it reveals it's face, and camera movement. Also cloaking does have same patterns as the original, which I like. And face does look like Berserk a little too much, from what we can see in the end.
