They managed to make the P2 design which is the same but different from Predator87. Also without it looking like some retarded fan art take like this one and all the rest have.

The mandibles have never closed properly since P2 nor folded correctly. They always look like some cheap Halloween mask and so does this one. Like it all you want it doesn't change the fact it's yet another downgrade from everything that made SWS work so great and iconic.

I'm a longtime fan with extensive knowledge of the design on how SWS and other studios who worked on the first design, and have wanted to see different interpretations, and I'm open to other studios. SWS isn't the only studio involved with making the Predator for iconic, Stan just gets all the credit for picking it up at the end.

But maybe let's chat about this in the design thread, and not in the topic of a cast and crew meet up at a shop.

It's almost like they're a.. diverse species lmao. And not just that one guy from the first film copy pasted a billion times (which is what some fans seem to want).

And just like that this poster confirms the dogshit face design yet again....nothing has been worth a damn since Predator 2. At this point it is a certainty that any predator sequel creature design made without SWS original crew will be dogshit.

It really feels like a truly unique individual with a build (even the thin dreads that I've seen get some complaints are doing it for me) and gear kit of his own. Feral looks a lot more interesting as a different "race" so far than the Berserker and his clan from Predators. And the less said about the big guy in The Predator, the better.
I agree but, the bits we haven't seen, mainly the eyes and brow could really make or break the design. I hope it's not a case of him looking super cool with the mask on and then ridiculous unmasked ala Wolf

He's already a huge step above Wolf for me in that he actually seems spooky/unsettling in the shots from the trailer, whereas Wolf never really came across as anything more than a wish fulfillment "bug stomper" caricature.

Crossing my fingers and hoping for something cool underneath that mask, if/when it comes off.

the ultimate fate of insular old fandoms built around forums is that they will inevitably focus on hating most genuinely creative takes on their beloved properties even if they are very good.

When Casino Royale came out i remember the "hardcore" nerds hating it on the bond forums.
When Dune came out last year i browsed around the last remaining dune fan forums and they really hated it too.

Maybe people with sense tend to leave these old communities and only the weirdest dorks stay behind.
