Earlier this Spring we had a look at the first series of figures coming from NECA based on the Cold Iron Studios video game Aliens: Fireteam Elite. Once we saw the reverse of the Series 1 packaging we knew what would be coming next and now it’s been announced proper.
Series 2 of the game’s collection features the Spitter Alien and Burster Alien figures. They’re scheduled to ship soon but retailer availability may see their release closer to August. The game-accurate 7-inch scale figures are based on the Xenomorph variants that cause a whole lot of acid flying problems for the Colonial Marines.
“Set in the iconic Alien universe, Aliens: Fireteam Elite is the newest videogame to pit humans against Xenomorphs in a desperate fight to survive the hive.
NECA is pleased to present a line of detailed action figures depicting the aliens seen in the game. The second series includes Burster Alien and Spitter Alien, which stand almost 9-inches tall and have nearly 30 points of articulation. Both figures feature game-accurate sculpts, bendable tails, and window box packaging.”
The figures are slated for release in June. They can be ordered individually or as a two-pack and pre-orders are now up on Big Bad Toy Store and Entertainment Earth.
Hopefully we see more announcements for Aliens: Fireteam Elite collectibles in the future as the game is ramping up to release its first major expansion.

One of my friends made my aliens marine charachter Hill into a action figure in same scale as the neca figures are in, its 3D printed and built and hand painted. PAint job is pretty much on par with neca, the seams and joints arent as good, but unlike necas: these joints work and arent loose or too tight etc. Kinda bad if a big company like enca fails to do the same quality as a person doing it for fun
Enjoy:

Nice find
Have to keep waiting myself, no site sells them here yet....

Didn't realize something was under the dome of the Spitter, the mixture of the non-human born Alien and the Neomorph design elements evident work together gorgeously.
The paint on them puts any other Alien to shame, yes even the gorgeous MAFEX Big Chap's hues, I haven't seen this sort of beautiful variations in blues and greens since Play Arts Kai's ACM line.
People are allowed to like things other people don't like.
So how about those toys, eh?
Sick passive aggressive post, bro
Stones in glass houses lmao
Especially when it concerns something as ultimately meaningful as an action figure. (The accessories are the best thing about it.) I say meaningful sarcastically. I know the Alien³ design back to front, up and down and all around, and I'm passionate about the film getting proper accurate representation. To that end I don't want to shut up about my disappointment with the last one, because it's all that's relevant I have to talk about regarding my favourite film in the franchise in this thread, and comparatively my excitement for the new one.
Besides it's the one thing I whinge about, you don't see me doing that sort of thing elsewhere, maybe AVP and Requiem on occasion being the exception though.
Chill out
I want the body & head to both be totally perpendicular with the ground, which this new figure looks to give me.
Never bugged me personally but I'm happy you're happy about the new one.
I dunno, I like it and I don't have issues posing it.
It really isn't, no moreso than the new Fireteam runner, you can see the spine is straight in the first photo.
Here's another pic of the Ultimate Runner:

I saw a tutorial on YouTube showing that you can remove the top two vertebrae and then the head can comfortably swivel back far enough for a running pose. But without doing that, I've never been able to get his head back far enough to look decent.
But having a runner that can't run is admittedly a big issue, and I'm excited that this new one can pose on all fours.
The face on the new runner looks derpy to me though, and I've been trying to figure out why. I think it's the large amount of space in between the upper lip and the dome.

The left not only does not match the right side but it's f**king slanted near the front and you can see a seam line!

Do not get me started on the way one hip has a large round bump where the leg connects on the right and does not on the left. Or the bizarre ribbed texture on the right arm and not on the left. It's a f**king disgrace, shoddy sculpt, saved only by what it's trying to be.
Wow.. is an art in itself
Probably because the rod puppet was never meant to be posed that way
As far as I see, the mold is 100% game accurate.
Once one of you have it in hand, could you please take some pictures of it close up so I can render comparisons?
Ironically this "videogame figure" ends up far closer to the 1992 Alien design than the "film figure" that was way oversized, the hands look fine, nowhere near as oversized as most depictions of the 1986 Alien design.
The only thing that's pathetic's that it took NECA to use 3D models someone else created to finally make a good Alien that's not in the 1/4 scale, or an accessory pack, or something bigger like the Queen (and even that's fill to the brim with QC issues that ought to be unacceptable because of the price you are paying) or something more humanoid like Predators.
All collectibles are going up in price recently, and frankly for the price of a Prowler and a Runner each, you get one MAFEX or Mezco Alien around the same size so that's pretty good.
To me this development's nothing but a positive.
The negatives, lips and teeth still look off. The lip is fat and ugly, and the teeth are all the same, no K9s or anything, and are barely visible, very small teeth (not saying the runner before had better teeth, but at least they were individual teeth that could be repainted). The head shape is at least nice. The neck is still long, for any half upright position the head would need to be up as much as it can go in comparison to the neck, and the neck to be arched forward/down as much as possible. Maybe only then would we get a nice upright pose? But the angle of the tail makes problems there too. The tail is very short (but I know that it's game accurate). The hands are too big and wide, looks cartoonish. The figure is way too small, we finally see how big they are compared to marines and other Aliens, pathetic. They look like toddlers. I know it's a matter of taste, but for me this size of body mold cannot fit in with my NECA and McFarlane collection, especially for that price point.
The spitters were a tad bit bigger in the game than the runner, but I'm afraid they're not gonna upscale the mold there... I'm waiting to see if they'll do accurate in-game drones and warriors.
More receipts advocating them as better than the originals in every way.
No reviewers have encountered quality control issues on this line so far, probably because of being sourced from the models in the videogame itself, and the consensus appears to be that they are improvements all around.
Hope to be getting mine soon.
And the Burster's just a Runner, but covered in symmetrical pustules and translucent parts, the front of the head actually reminds me of this a bit:

Only green and glowly because vidja.
But I actually feel like the designers get H.R Giger just fine. Even if the colours go to more extremes occasionally because of the medium it exists in. I'd say that's pretty evident in their renditions of the original Drone, the Warrior and Runner translating through just fine, even improving upon the proportions of the skull in relation to the face on this guy:

Personally, I find these critters to be ugly and have nothing to do with Giger's elegant design.
