New Prey Promo Video Shows More Predator Action!

A new 30 second promo advert for the Prey trailer has been posted with some new Predator footage! There’s more narrative from our heroine Naru warning her brother, Taabe, that something is out there and it’s not a bear. There’s a new shot of the Feral Predator standing in a cave.

There’s a new scene of the Predator standing in a field cloaked about to fight a wolf and his uncloaked wristblades come out. This definitely confirms that his cloak is different than we’ve seen in previous Predator films. It has a orange flickering instead of the usual blue. We also see one of the Settlers crawling on the floor and there is footage of one of the Comanche warriors running through the tall grass and is pounced upon by the cloaked Predator.

Prey is currently going to be released on on Hulu and Disney+ on the 5th of August.

It's actually pretty surprising to me that some predator fans didn't hate The Predator. But these things are subjective.

To me, I think The Predator is a straight up bad movie and an even worse predator movie. Aside from the Fugitive's design, it has no redeeming features for me. It and AVPR are the only movies I don't have a physical copy of as I've no desire to ever rewatch either

But I'm not going to tell anyone they're wrong for liking it, each to their own

They cut out the emissaries which were two predators in human army fatigues living on the human army base
Sounds really bad hut who knows
Also the ark with tons of hybrid predator creatures

The final film did such a bad job explaining what was happening
Originally supposed to be fugitive and emissaries fighting assassins because he was dishonorable I believe
What came out was totally different
But they kept most of the original footage
    What a mess
I enjoyed the bantering of the military rejects and the predator stuff but it was a jumbled mess
Predators collecting skulls for the spinal fluid was unforgivable

I agree with him though. Well, probably not about the critics part but about the movie not being as bad as people made it out to be. I believe if that movie hadn't been f**ked over in editing and reshoots audience's reaction I would've been warmer

Are you serious hahaha?! I want what you see smoking

    I hope they go really macabre with a Predator lair if that cave is his makeshift lair. If anyone read the original Predator script, Dutch stumbles upon the Predator's hunting camp it has set up. Predators '10 took this idea but one element none of the films have touched upon is what the Predator does with the skin when it flays it's victims. This was from the original script;

"Schaefer starts after him but then stops, dumbfounded
by the incredible images that crash in on him:
TRANSLUCENT HUMAN SKINS stretched over frames, the hair
    of the attached scalps moving lightly in the wind;
SKINNED BODIES, some lying on the ground, others hung
from the trees, like Hopper and his men were."

I wouldn't mind seeing something like this just to show how cruel and sadistic the Predator is.

I noticed the roar when it lifts up the bear is completely different in this tv spot, and I LOVE it. Sounds freaky. That's the kind of stuff I'm looking forward to.

I would really dig it if he's using that cave, too. If it's one thing I'd like to see, it's more predators doing weird ritual predator things in their hideaway spots.

My excitement for this ramped up tenfold this week. Gonna try to avoid further promo, but it'll be tough.

What a cool idea to set it in the 18th century. Love the idea that the predator has been coming to earth for centuries... but there's no record of it because nobody lived to tell the tale.

I think this guy gets it. It actually looks like a Predator film FINALLY.

Which say's alot, considering the budget would have been slashed after the merger.

Did any of you watched first Predator movie, when Predator chopped Dillons hand with PC before he fired MP5 at him, scene where Predator came to Dillon cloacked and his Wrist Blades came out, uncloacked... I mean you can write whatever you will, but there are things that are more than obvious in the franchise...

It makes sense but also why wouldn't the Predator king or elder Predator, the one in charge not want his clan members to have the ability to cloak his arsenal of weaponry? That part doesn't make sense because if Predator can cloak his weapons then less of a chance of prey spotting him on the hunt

It's a cool ideal for ranking up but on the hunt it doesn't make much sense, why would the elder risk a soldier or other enemies to see a Predator by looking at its weapon

I like the ideal more of Predators having the ability right away to cloak on board weapons and we all know Predators are cocky so what I think they like to do is for there Prey to see the weapon there about to be killed with, they like to taunt, that works if there getting picked off one by one but not in groups

I forgot about Predator 2 spear gun was cloaked in the beginning also, we see the projectile but the weapon itself was cloaked

That's a cool fan-theory and it make sense. I also like the idea that maybe the feral pred doesn't have the best tech because he's not part of clan. He's a lone wolf. With that you have to become self reliant. A survivor.

Quote from: ROYCE_THE_PREDATOR on Jun 09, 2022, 01:22:52 AMIt makes sense for a Alien to have advanced technology and be able to cloak and his weapons to cloak also, if the weapons couldn't cloak then that's weird, someone also mentioned it could be a upgrade to a Hunter class, so when you get to a certain level, you gain access to be able to cloak your weapons

That is a good point, earned capability versus here is the ferrari of weaponry 16 year old pred. We all have to drive a rusted out s**t box at some point. Prove that you don't need it then you can have it. Makes total sense given the implied culture of rites of passage and attainment.

In the cave shot it looks like the predator has the combistick placed in his lower back, which suggests the upper thing popping out is something else, maybe some kind of sword. At least I hope so.
  16. GreybackElder
Yes, weapons being cloaked and uncloaked are very inconsistent throughout the series.
Predator: wrist blades were uncloaked while killing Dillon
Predator 2: net Gun uncloaked during the voodoo posse attack
Predators: unclear whether staff was cloaked before it hit Mombasa
AVP: spear was cloaked while it impaled one of the workers at the entrance(hole) underground.
AvPr pretty sure all weapons were cloaked while wolf was.
  17. ROYCE_THE_PREDATOR
There is a debate going on at Fb that Predators weapons don't cloak but that's not the case, we seen that happen in Avp with the wrist blades and the spear, in Predator 2 his spear is cloaked in one shot in the beginning, in Predator 1 his plasma gun is cloaked

Wow, I could have gone until August before seeing any more material but damn I am so ready for this. I am officially hyped.

The shots of the pred in the cave and standing in front of the wolf was awesome. I've always wanted to see a pred fight a bear and wolves. It's something I wanted in the novel Turnabout and FINALLY we're getting that.

I don't want to get my hopes up but damn this is starting to look great.
