Updated: The Predator Stalks the Comanche Tribe in Full-Length Trailer for Prey!

The thrilling full-length trailer has seemingly been leaked for the upcoming Predator sequel Prey! The leaked trailer comes from the way of the LeaksAndRumors subreddit. The 2 minute 8 seconds trailer sees Naru, the highly skilled warrior of the Comanche Nation, played by Amber Midthunder.

The trailer introduces us to Naru hunting a bear but as she is pursued by the bear, something else kills it before it reaches her. She realises there’s something else out there and she tries to warn her tribe. There’s lots of action in the latter half of the Predator trailer.

Set in the Comanche Nation 300 years ago, “Prey” is the story of a young woman, Naru, a fierce and highly skilled warrior. She has been raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters who roam the Great Plains, so when danger threatens her camp, she sets out to protect her people. The prey she stalks, and ultimately confronts, turns out to be a highly evolved alien predator with a technically advanced arsenal, resulting in a vicious and terrifying showdown between the two adversaries.

The upcoming Predator sequel will be directed by Dan Trachtenberg and stars Amber Midthunder, Dakota Beavers, Dane Diliegro and Stefany Mathias. The release date for Prey is still the 5th of August and it will exclusively come to Hulu in the United States.

Think I'll just stick with the leaked version whenever I want to rewatch it, since it's exactly the same and nearly as good quality, but without those two big distractions in the top corners.

Either way though, the trailer itself continues to look great!

Oh don't worry there's no watermark on the trailer. It's only on the thumbnail!

Youtube compression. Let's hope for a ProRes version soon!
Where dop the ProRes versions come from? I remember back in the day waiting for trailers to hit some Apple site or other in QuickTime for the best quality  :P

Ahah yep I remember doing the same! Most of the time it comes from the official site from the Studio behind the movie/show. But I often see people on the internet posting ProRes that you literally can't find anywhere so I'm not even sure where they came from.

Agreed; it's great to see another Predator that actually looks and behaves monstrous and otherworldly.  We've gotten several watered down versions over the years, which - don't get me wrong - I've enjoyed to a certain extent, but it's so good to get back to the bones of the original Predator  8) For that, I'm more than willing to accept a change in appearance if they're wanting to go that route.  If that's what it takes to re-ignite the mystery and horror into the movies.

The reason we don't have an official trailer release yet is because they're still finishing up all those Bigfoot effects shots that were left out of the leaked trailer!
  5. Doomofman
Be kinda funny if in the movie before they realise what the predator is that they suggest it's sasquatch going around causing maybe, though I don't know if that kind of legend fits with the Comanche or not

Quote from: The Shuriken on Jun 05, 2022, 02:03:39 AMThis looks spectacular. Seeing the Predator toss the tomahawk up and catching it made literally go "ohhoho yeah!" Amber Midthunder is convincing as a heroine for sure. Her native war scream waz awesome.

Yeah! That axe flip really got me. I love little shows of character like that - made me think of Fugitive's thumbs up. Which I f**king loved.

This trailer really got me hyped. Worries about the actual Predator face, I do love the bone mask. I'm a fan of the open masks like Ahab or the AvP Elder's (considerations of being a poor helmet look aside) as I think they look wicked, so I'm really happy to see that here!

The trailer actually makes the Predator look scary! I really dig that. It's nice to have that feel again. And he looks agile too! I love it. Looks like an absolute beast from the footage so far.

I am really excited to see this!!!

Quote from: Ingwar on Jun 05, 2022, 08:47:44 AMWhy predator is using plasmcaster against enemies from less advance civilisation? They basically use bows and tomahawks. He should fight them in hand to hand combat without camouflage.

I don't think it's rocking a shoulder cannon this time. This trailer made it look more like a projectile.

Jungle Hunter killed Blaine from behind, and pretty much Hawkins too. Same with some of the various goons in Predator 2, Mombasa and Nikolai in Predators etc. They've never been shy about taking people or prey out with cheap shots while invisible.

    They've always been cheaters. :P

Quote from: Mr.Turok on Jun 05, 2022, 06:19:37 PMOne thing, kind of makes me sad but its an oh well kind of thing, is that the movie isn't doing the whole Comanche language dub like Apocalypto. I mean Naru speaks some of it to her dog, but damm that was a tease of what could have been. Shame but oh well!

Yeah, I think a lot of us were hoping for that but it was always a stretch.

I'm legitimately and truly hyped about this film. For the first time in my 31 year life as a predator fan, I'm excited for a new film the series. No offence I'm a predator fan. Not a AvP fan.

I think the new design kicks ass. Original, tribal and menacing. Not the glorified power ranger looking monstrosity, we got in the last film.

Never understood why it's so difficult to keep in line with what Stan Winston did with predator. All these whacky ideas were never needed. They are mysterious, arrogant creatures imo and I like it that way.

Looking forward to seeing a detailed look at the new design properly.

There is one thing however I'm worried about, I'm sure one for you fine gents can point me in the right direction! :)

So in prey it's set in 1719 and is supposed to be the predator's first ever hunt. I find this strange considering greybacks flintlock was from Raphael Adolini in 1715. Could he actually of acquired this later? It seems so strange that the dates are so close yet dont align if this is the first ever predator to earth. It wouldn't sit well with me if the lore of P2 is ignored. Perhaps I'm missing something?

Every time i see such kind of posts prior to release and afterwards people start to diz right after new movie released ))) at the same time i do hope that eventually studio somehow will make something viewable

There are different looking predators with some pretty crazy mandible positioning, hell there are predators with tusks even. The City Hunter wasn't a carbon copy of the original. Take the Scout Predator for example, sucker has crazy mandibles that are set completely differently than anything on screen so far. I just don't get the demand that all predators look the same? As far as I'm concerned the worst predator design in a movie so far was the predator from the first AVP and that more had to do with how it looked so friendly lol. This pred looks like it will be monstrous looking.
Problem is that new ones look broken, hanging loosely from the face rather then closing properly. Its like having a human with a broken jaw barely closing their mouth.

Not limited release. Only two movies Fox in year since 2022/2023.  In only Avatar, Free guy 2. Movies big.  ONLY Blockbusters, ONLY two in year. ONLY successful movies.

Fox movies shot prior to the Fox purchase (Free Guy, New Mutants, Death in Nile). Some 40 films were required to be theatrically released by pre-purchase contracts.

In cinema Fox is the new Disney2.0. In platform  Hulo is old Fox.

From this year that changes. Only two releases a year and only big budget mega hits. The rest of the Fox-style movies (Oscars, independent, medium R movies) only Disney + / Hulo.

Wow that's was a fantastic read. I had no clue that was the plan for Fox. I guess that why the announced the alien movie on Hulu as well. It's a shame the brand from both alien & predators has taken such a hit that Fox doesn't think it's theater worthy. Make you wonder if it becomes a huge hit on Hulu they might just assume that's its market now

Quote from: Kane's other son on Jun 06, 2022, 11:36:59 AMLooks really good and atmospheric. They should give it a theatrical release. Let it play for a couple of weeks before heading to Hulu/Disney+.

Maybe if the reaction is great enough then Disney/Fox will toss it in theaters for a limited release. It really all depends on if people watch it & add Hulu. If it's a hit you probably have a better chance at the sequel being a limited release before. I hope things can change, I would love the option to see it in the big screen.

Really don't think we've seen enough to tell the mannerisms of this one and how close he might be to other performances, but I get the concern. I will agree about the roar in the bear scene, though. I'm hoping that's just in the trailer to make people recognize it as PREDATOR. Just a stock, typical predator scream.

One of my favorite things about new predators in each film isn't just the gear and the look, but I also love how the vocal sounds expand and evolve with every movie. Personally I love the sounds Berserker and the others made in Predators, I thought it was really great. It's one of the most enjoyable parts in experiencing a new predator, for me. Of course you need the classic roar, or a variation of it, but still.

Quote from: BmwM4CS on Jun 06, 2022, 04:31:10 PMHope they don't actually use that recycled roar you hear when he lifts the bear up. Also surprised nobody noticed they implemented some of the same environmental effects/tricks and or cinematography that were used for Predators. For example the Predator standing while debris are flying around him like in a wind tunnel is very very similar to the scene where Beserker puts his plasma caster beam on Brody's head. Than whole scene has the same feel as the colonists battle scene they show here. I can't explain why exactly but it's very similar. Also looks like Steele is in the Predator suit again because when they show the Predator standing all menacing he moves EXACTLY like Beserker. The way he shrugs his shoulders as he looks up breathe in and out really hard as he opens and closes his hands in the same way. You can just tell it's probably the same suit actor. Which IMO is a mistake. Ian played the absolute best Predator in AVP-R since the original. His little mannerisms were awesome and very Alien. Steele just looks like a pissed off WWE Wrestler

Has the suit actor been 100% confirmed yet?
It's Dane DiLiegro or Kyle Strauts or some combination of the two (Kyle is listed as Additional Predator on IMDB though that might not mean much)

IIRC, wasn't there a casting announcement for a French Trapper via IMDB a few months back?

Most likely the Europeans taking pelts and animals from under the Natives as they did back then.

Perfect place for a Pred to disguise some of it's kills, though, IMO.

Which could also perhaps lead to increased tension between the Comanche and settler characters. The settlers are out killing and skinning animals for their pelts, then they begin finding their own people hung up and skinned and they think it's the Comanches who are doing it out of revenge. Settlers attack Comanches, Predator weighs in, big ol' battle takes place etc.

Yeah I can definitely see something like that happening.

IIRC some tribes would trade with the Europeans/Settlers so it could be that there's a treaty of sorts established until as you say people go missing and/or bodies turn up.

The scene where she's talking tonher brother/elder by firelight and she looks to the trees and sees blood spill or whatever it was will be the "oh shit she was right!" moment, IMO.

Quote from: Doomofman on Jun 05, 2022, 04:49:25 PMYeah I don't think there is a plasma caster, it looks like the targeting laser is for the spear (or at least a spear of some sort) that's fired rather than thrown

It sounded like it might be a bow shot that follows the triangle laser targeting - which would be fitting.

As for the Predator design thus far, I am a fan. Granted we don't really get a solid view of the face but the mask and dreadlocks are refreshing looking. And the body looks built but not bulky - really liked the shot of the Predator climbing and jumping from the trees to showcase how agile it is.

  22. Yeaok
Pure woke trash. I am woman hear me roar bullshit. The nod to the predator primal comic was cool. But the predator design looks worse than the predator hunting grounds skins and the whole strong woman trying to be something because she was told she couldn't is just lazy writing and pandering. Then again most everyone on this forum were hyped and swore Shane black was going to do an amazing job and that movie was horrible from start to finish so I'm not surprised at the naive optimism.

I saw some people hoping it would be released during the MTV Movie Awards. I was thinking it was supposed to originally come out around the end of the month or early July. With the leak, maybe the promotion will be moved up a little bit.
