Calling Antarctica Traffic Control – Alien Day 2022 Is Here!

Alien Day 2022 is upon us! While technically every day is Alien (and Predator) Day for the staff and community of Alien vs. Predator Galaxy, it’s always exciting to see the new releases or announcements that come from April 26th!

Unfortunately, 2022 does look similar to the last few years in that this will be a quieter event, with the celebration not receiving the same level of support from Disney as it used to from 20th Century Fox, but we’ll be collecting all the new announcements and all the community releases in this article for everyone’s ease!

  • The Perfect Organism Podcast will be releasing several new episodes today, including an interview with Alaric Hahn, the fan who first started Alien Day, a fan commentary of the Assembly Cut of Alien 3, a new roundtable episode on Alien 3 and a live roundtable! They will also be releasing Alien: Abandon, their latest fan audio production!
  • Alien vs. Predator Galaxy has also published our own Alien Day Interview where we chat to someone who has made an impact on the franchise. This year we spoke to Mark Schultz, the writer of Aliens: Apocalypse – Destroying Angels (among many), the comic series that defined the Space Jockeys for so many fans for over a decade.
  • Darkness Calling, an online community of indie musicians and indie music listeners, has released They Mostly Come At Night, an album of new songs that are either lyrically inspired by or feature samples from the Alien films. They Mostly Come At Night is a non-profit project. Anyone can stream the collection for free on Bandcamp, and anyone who chooses to pay for/download the compilation will be donating to The Trevor Project, a US charity that focuses on suicide prevention for LGBTQ teens.

We’ll be keeping this post updated with more as we find it! Any big announcements that come out of today will be receiving their own separate posts.  How are you celebrating Alien Day? Let us know down below!

Hey folk, just received an update from Darkness Calling about this -

    QuoteHey, guys!

Everyone who purchased our Alien compilation has been automatically upgraded to today's new release: the Expanded Edition, featuring 2 new tracks and a new cover.

Of particular note is the song "Coma" by BlakLight, which is written from Kane's point of view.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. This franchise needs a "keeper of the flame" figure. (Like a Feige)

In a sense it has one in Ridley Scott – both upcoming projects are coming through Scott Free, with him attached as producer.

Beyond that, though, I don't want a Kevin Feige-type micromanaging things long-term. That's how you end up with everything feeling too samey, and the core appeal of Alien as an ongoing franchise to me is the each individual installment is incredibly distinct in how it embodies the style and intent of each individual filmmaker spearheading each project.

I feel like we are the only ones celebrating this anymore. There's a show and a movie, and neither released anything for this "fandom holiday"

I had a great time today, thank you very much.

I'd kill for the Cavity Colours Ladies Structural Perfection, This Time It's War, The Dragon, and No One Can Hear You Scream alas, I do not reside in the United States or Canada.

    Fireteam -

QuoteAdded the Close Encounter Weapon Color to SSGT Park's Armory as a commemorative gift in celebration of Alien Day. This animated cosmetic is free to pick up from the Armory in the Endeavor Hub at any time, as soon as this patch becomes available, and its availability won't expire.

Really? They couldn't even announce or hint at what more content they're working on? That's really sad... Probably nothing from Neca either this year since they're too busy focusing on those stupid turtles...

    Happaps Aliump Day folks!

I wasn't really expecting much new stuff to be officially announced, so that comes as no surprise. Hopefully once things really start to get rolling with the TV show and movie Disney will start to ramp up the promotion a bit and we might get back to seeing more promotion-filled Alien days like we have in the past.

But regardless, yay Aliens! ;D Might have to get back on Fireteam Elite tonight and blast some with the new Lancer. Dem beams is good!

Happy Alien Day everyone! We'll be releasing our Alien Day interview in about 4 hours! I'll try and keep this thread updated with related things. :)

Translation: To coincide with such a memorable day, we have decided to resell the TORCH TORCH alien apparel, which was sold out due to its popularity. Don't miss this opportunity. Click here to order: https://mamegyorai.jp/net/main/category_item_list/category_item_list.aspx?category=2758
