Soo maybe December?
We actually recorded it before the Phalanx drop, so it has already dropped.
Did you see the ACM easter egg in AFTE? There is one.its really obvious!
So Xbox crept back up to 70, noice!
I knew (at the time of recording) that all the versions of A:FTE had a culmination average in the 60-69 percentile at Metacritic, so I believe I said "60 Percent Range" but still, perhaps there was a better way of saying it. High 60's would have been better, maybe?
Think it was Ridgetop putting emphasis on the fact that the game was released at a budgetary price point which I feel is such a huge factor to consider. Me and my mate paid £25 for our physical copies and he calls it one of the best value games he's purchased in years. He loves the perks and levelling up more than I do and he's casual!!
More maps and another game mode is imperative- and it has to be quick. But otherwise I would consider this is money well spent and the game is full of positives (and of course drawbacks which are more forgivable because of the price!)
Glad you enjoyed it buddy!
I probably didn't convey myself properly enough but it was never my intention to correlate arcade fun or being arcadey with being easy. I've spent a lot of time arcade games in my day, most recently playing a Terminator Salvation co-op shooter at a local movie theater, where I sank quarter after quarter in the machine to continue play. Some of those arcade games are tough... and wallet drainers!
It was more a commentary on the simplistic nature of the gameplay itself, it's linear nature, disposable enemies peppered with bullet sponges, and in replay you know what enemies you're going to face at every defense point. It's just a comparison to a type of game I find to be more on the mindless side, but still very, very fun. But arcade coin-ops can still be hard!
It gets a little heated at time and the hard part as the listener is that I get where everyone is coming from and you guys all make good points.
Voodoo - One thing I keep laughing about is how easy the game is for you and how hard it is for me. I struggle with all of it and even with a maxed out gunner I have trouble on intense. It took 2 weeks to complete the campaign on standard. For context though I am only able to squeeze about 30 min to 1 hour per day if I'm lucky. So if I lose a match sometimes that's all I have time for in one day.
Xenomorphine - I feel like you kinda hold the game accountable for not being the kind of game you wanted. This was never marketed as a realistic or tactical single player experience so I do think it's a touch unfair to the game. Other wise you made a lot of great points.
The game doesn't not feel like an Aliens the film experience, it feels like it's part of the EU instead. This is like Berserker but instead is a part of the current EU and I really love that. Even though I would have prefered a more realistic horror and story based game, I still like what this is.
I have a feeling that Xenomorphine is going to be the one who dislikes the game the most, but we'll see!
