NECA have announced the fourth set of figures in the Alien 40th Anniversary line. Ripley, based on the likeness of Sigourney Weaver, returns in her compression suit which was previously released in Aliens Series 4. Lambert in her compression suit is the next figure, based on Veronica Cartwright.
Lambert was previously released in Aliens Series 11. Ripley and Lambert aren’t re-releases though – they’ve both been given “photoreal” heads. The last figure in the line is Big Chap but it has a greyish colouring to match Giger’s early concept design. There’s also a Facehugger accessory with that one.
Each figure will be packaged in a 40th Anniversary Kenner inspired window box and is due to be released in May 2021. Which do you prefer with Ripley and Lambert – the old heads or the new photoreal ones?
Series 3 of the line was supposed to be released a few months ago but has seemingly been delayed. That one is going to feature Ash and Kane for the first time with the actors’ likeness. Big Chap was going to be the other figure in Series 3 which looks like a re-release.

I still have that one and the predalien one, but they are more statues and yes they are expensive like hell to get hold of now.
An Ultimate was brought up and they still haven't released them. Not sure whose at fault for that be it the license holders or Neca themselves. But updated figures are long overdue. And it's not like the original figures are easy to get ahold of or as if they're incredibly articulated either. They're one of if not the first things they did and it shows. They can keep releasing repaints but wont try to move figures people keep asking for.
Yeah and we'd actually get them, and their faces would be good, and wouldn't break immediately.
And still no Wolf or PredAlien after fifteen years now?
Time to give it to someone who gives a toss.
The collection is absolutely fantastic, yes, but I want more!
I imagine they'll do figures off of the new show/movie if they happen.
I salute NECA.
Just wait to see who else grabs the opportunity to fill that market void.
Hiya has been killing it lately.
They seem to be winding it down unfortunately.
I had hoped for more retro kenner style figures
If the mini comics were printed by dark horse it might be because they lost the license. Any new runs might not be able to use them.
My Celtic knockoff is not made like the rest of my Neca figures, If it was in the same factory then this guy must have been cobbled together from scraps.
QUESTION, is there any way to fix a loose inner-jaw??? The one for my Scorpion Alien is completely loose and flops all the way out if I just tilt the figure forward...
From 6 of my aliens warriors from neca, 2 have a terrible paintjob, 2 acceptable level and 2 which looks like they should. Only 2 have good joints and are perfect, rest have imperfections....
The knock offs: Most of them are made in the same factory after they closed, by workers making extra molds and then put it together either there if no one sees them or at their homes. And same here: if the person making it is good then the knock off is very close to the real thing, but then there are those who make a ton of those knock offs and is lazy and you end up with bad knock offs....
Then you have the true knock offs: people who make their own copies of these and they are even worse.
I also noticed:
Necas xenomorph figures and the more advanced figures often have worse quality than their more simple human figures where I havent encountered same amount of problems, my guess is they produce these figures in way too fast pace to allow those who work to take the proper time making them, and necas own quality control miss a lot, but thats a theory of mine.
The two standard preds have atrociously misaligned paint and most of the Aliens have serious assembly issues (big gaps, outright glued joints - not just stiff or paint flooded, bent limbs that heating only fixes for a few minutes, etc) and really lousy paintwork.
And this is after having had the very worst offenders replaced (which had things like missing parts, four left handed dorsal tubes etc).
The paint job on the knockoff is far worse than any of my other figures. Also the materials it's made of seem to be of a cheaper quality
Not to say neca has good paint jobs, just that the fake one is noticeably worse.
Just for reference purposes.
Very exciting. Can't wait to see what it is.

They've had some misses though. Ash looks like Phil Collins for some reason, their Hicks never looked right to me, Amanda Ripley doesn't quite look like she does in the game (but she *does* look a little like Sigourney Weaver, which the game version didn't), MacReady from 'The Thing' isn't quite right
What I'm saying is that NECA human figures are a land of contrasts.
