NECA Announces Ultimate City Demon Predator 2 Variant As SDCC 2020 Exclusive!

Though San Diego Comic Con isn’t taking place in person this year, NECA will still be releasing a brand new convention exclusive while ComicCon@Home is kicking off, and it’s a pretty swanky one this year! In celebration of Predator 2’s upcoming 30th anniversary in November, NECA has announced a new City Hunter variant, the City Demon!

Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the classic Predator 2 movie, NECA is proud to announce the City Demon!

This stealthy Predator is cast in clear plastic with lightning accents to capture his appearance climbing the towering buildings in 1990 Los Angeles. The figure features over 30 points of articulation, retractable wrist blades and articulated shoulder cannon. It comes with 5 interchangeable hands, discs, combi sticks, and a skull.

Comes in special 5 panel window box packaging that activates a lightning effect when open.

The City Demon will be on sale at Walmart (in the US) and on NECA’s online store (which will ship internationally) from the 23rd of July. You can also head on over to ToyArk for some of their own City Demon pictures (including the one used as the featured image for this article).

    I can tell you right now that the Elder is going to have the most straight forward box illustration, but that won't mean it won't look any less rad than the others. I just think his appearance at the end of Predator 2 is too iconic to overlook or try and "beat" with another image. Everyone else is getting "Expanded Universe" package illos though.

    Does the American Walmart sell Neca toys instore? I dont think i'v ever seen them on Canadian ones, Zellers and toysrus used to sell neca but Zellers is gone and they stopped at Toysrus for some reason. So the only places here to get them is ebgames or comicbook stores. I preordered the rhino alien from eb games last may and it still hasn't come in, they keep pushing the realise a month so I cancelled and ordered it from a different store and it's all ready on it's way.

    Just picked up the Ultimate Armored Lost Predator at my local Target! Very cool figure and some very cool packaging thanks to Tristan's fantastic artwork and the cool little lore bit on the back.

    Troophy wall comes with this big dinosaur-like skull. Others were whit lost clan predators. There was support pack distributed some time ago but don't know if it's available anymore.

    1. Some blister pack figures have improved articulation while not being considered "ultimate". Like the AVP figures for example.
    2. Ultimate figures usually always have more accessories and improved articulation.

    Those are the questions I can answer. :)

    My wife and I decided to start collecting the NECA line with the recent Lost release, but I have some questions over the line as a whole.

    1) Are the blister figures the same articulation level as the Ultimate line?
    2) Is the difference in between the regular line and the Ultimate line just accessories or is it more?
    3) Does the trophy wall diorama box include skulls?
    4) Do you have recommendations for companies that make diorama background or accessories to go with the line?

    Being a bad blood wouldn't make sense he travels with the lost tribe and they're honorable.

    BBTS had two Lost Predators up for pre-order. Snagged both while the going was good. Not sure why they had just 2 though. Don't think it was extra stock. Maybe someone canceled their pre-order? At any rate it says the figures are due in october, but I know what I'm getting into with BBTS. They are always late. I probably won't see these till the holidays when more stock arrives for Christmas.

    So I got screwed over on the Armored Lost Hunter.
    Pre-ordered on Amazon and I discover they cancelled on me because they went out of stock. On an item I pre-ordered. For the lower price.

    So basically I have to go to another seller or return to the one I had for an almost 60 dollar asking price.

    What burns me up is that this isn't even the first time this has happened. Like I almost need to be as fast as those guys that got the PS5 preorder.

    Both Hiya and the original first release of Borg came with this knife and the little sheathe component. It's just unfortunate they didn't give him this weapon, they've given other "Ultimates" many more accessories than they gave him, and it would have been nice. Plus, I personally think Borg looks coolest when he's unmasked with the knife, he's like one of the only predators to be so sure of himself he doesn't even carry wristblades, just an alien machete  :D

    I'm kinda pissed, it's not really the "Ultimate" Lost Predator at all. First of all, I think that armor looks hokey and kinda silly for a predator, but secondly, he's supposed to come with a little predator machete and sheathe, I have no idea why they wouldn't have included that so he could be a more accurate representation of his P2 self

    Back of the packaging says there's a 30th anniversary greyback coming, meaning new lore for KALAKTA!

    There are a few on eBay. But given the sometimes fragile nature of NECA Predators, I'd rather order some from a store, in case there is damage or defect.

    BBTS had two extras pop up the other night but in the time it took me to sign in, they were gone. This must be the fastest selling Predator NECA has made.

    I thought the fact that these were $35 plus $10 shipping would cost them to sell out slower...

    Predators have lasted a good long while on their personal stores. So this is definitely surprising. Either fans REALLY REALLY want this one, or it wasn't produced in large numbers and stock was low by default.
