With the Trial Weekend mere days away, Sony has uploaded 2 new videos in anticipation of the fandom’s first widespread taste of Illfonic’s upcoming Predator: Hunting Grounds! The first video gives us a look at some of the upcoming Fireteam features which we’ll be experiencing for the first time this weekend!
And the second is a look at how the Predator plays in the game, giving us a glimpse at the stealth kills that are possible in the game.
Join the fight* this weekend from 5:00PM PST on March 27 to 11:59PM PST on March 29 in the Predator: Hunting Grounds Trial. Squad-up with friends as part of a Fireteam and take on dangerous missions before the Predator finds you–or become the Predator and hunt your prey. Wield human and alien weaponry in this intense asymmetrical multiplayer experience–unlocking iconic gear and skins as you level up throughout the trial.
Jordan Mathewson , Hunting Ground’s lead designer, also wrote a new article for Sony’s PlayStation Blog giving us an overview of the upcoming trial weekend, a list of “everything you need to know before diving” into the new game, and some new screenshots! The map, Overgrowth, appears to be an entirely new one from the one demoed at the expos and conventions.
In one mission, you and your team are asked to cut off fuel to the local guerrillas, who are buying massive fuel shipments from an elusive black market contact. You’re being sent in to find the fuel stores and destroy them, disrupting operations in the area for the foreseeable future. Once the fuel has been dealt with, you will need to find the black market operative and take them off the board. In addition to this mission, and hunting the Predator if you choose, you could be asked to accomplish multiple other random missions like sabotage an expensive solar array in enemy camps, destroy dangerous weapon stores, set fire to narcotics, clean up contaminated water sources, and many more.
The trial will also include the progression system so we can see how leveling up feels in the game, as well as the ability to play all the different classes of Predator! Head on over to PlayStation Blog to check out and the entire article.
