Lanard Toys New 4″ Alien Series Hits The Shelves At Walmart and Smyths!

If you’re active on social media you may have seen this new line of 4″ figures from Lanard Toys being shared in various Facebook groups! The new line is targeted at the younger fans, but seems to have struck a chord with the older fans who appreciate the Kenner-vibes that Lanard’s new series is putting out.

There are currently six different sets available, the majority of which sees Aliens going up against a (kind of) Colonial Marine! There’s also a pretty sweet APC and armored Power-Loader!

These figures are available exclusively through Walmart in the United State, and Smyths Toys in the United Kingdom (not until April though). Unfortunately only the Queen and motorcycle packs seem to be available in the UK though.

    QUEEN IS WORTH IT!

Bumping this thread just so everybody knows, I've been playing around with her a lot recently, she's only 20 bucks but she fits with the neca stuff kinda (imo, at least going by some depictions like avp 2)

Makes me feel like a kid playing with my kenners again!

Will post pics when I get a chance to give you all a feel

Managed to get the whole set (local Walmart had every set except Queenie, another Wal-Mart 15 minutes away only had the Queenie).

Overall, I LOVE these figs, especially for the price. They are a really beautiful homage to the Kenner line, and for $10 for the basic sets you get some really good figures. The Alien figs are amazing for the price, plenty of articulation for some great poses. The APC especially surprised my, lots of cool decals and you can fit two figures inside of it.

But the real star of course is Queenie. The second jaw action feature is a lot of fun, and she has good articulation overall (only downer is no knee or horizontal hip movements, but I guess that would've caused stability and cost issues for the $20 price point.

The only thing that's really somewhat meh to okay on are the human figures. They have pretty basic hip articulation so no cool poses. That said, they look great and all the costumes are strait out of the film. Overall, if you see these figs, get them. For the price (like $80 for the whole set), you can't go wrong.

I'm hoping we get a continuation of the Lanard stuff somehow (scaled-down Dropship that can seat 1 person, hollow on the inside but with an opening ramp like how the APC's top opens, fold-out wings) but I hope they listen to feedback on the human figures and up their game with those.

    Hmm I guess I don't get these.
That's because you aren't the target demographic for these toys.

Well then what is supposed to be the demographic? An initial look would say younger kids, but most of the people on the forum here that are talking about buying them are probably adults. Again, I am all for more products and especially ones to bring in newer audiences.

People love the Kenner line itself, it's just it's version of the DNA reflex that's deplorable and that coming into serious stories involving the creature is annoying. No danger of that with this line, so far. It's just really cute.

I agree some of the DNA reflex idea they used is silly for ones like the scorpion, mantis, crab etc. that couldn't actually be facehugged, but all the others that could be facehugged I have no problem with it.
Literal kids are the intended audience, just like the Kenner toys were in the 90. The old Kenner toys are the things that got me interested in the franchise back when I was 9; I saw the toys, thought they looked cool as heck, and then learned there were movies and stuff and it was all downhill from there. :P

I'm interested in these new toys because I am a literal child trapped in an adult's body by way of arrested development that I should probably see a therapist about so I can join adult society instead of blowing my spare money on children's toys, but I might as well enjoy the ride while it lasts.

Also I got the Queen Alien and holy goddamn is it huge. It's radically out of proportion with anything in the line, it just dwarfs the power loader. Like it's a foot tall and the head seems only a little smaller than the NECA Queen.

Also the new Alien RPG clarifies that the scorpions that the Scorpion Alien comes from are giant scorpions (and therefore can be facehugged).

Haha, I can't argue with that. I'm all for it!

As a side note, I tried to check them out the other day but my Wal Mart did not carry them  >:(

There are three different pairs of Aliens in the slime eggs, you can identify which pair you're going to get by the serial number embossed on the bottom of the egg. I know the one ending in 77 is the Green/Glow in the Dark pair; the other two pairs are Orange/Grey (76), and Greenish-Grey/Red (78).

I ended up merging all three slime pools into one big mega-pool, I'm planning to use it to slime up some of the Lanard stuff I got, and use it in the old Kenner Queen hive Playset.

Found these at my Walmart this morning. Almost picked up one for my son. It was the motorcycle with what looked like the red runner from Alien 3. It was a huge surprise.

They also had the eggs that had the like Lego Build an Alien in them. Pretty curious about that one as well.
  7. The Old One
It also clarifies that any Alien produced from an animal is roughly identical to the Sentry, as it is with human born Soldiers, minute variation.

Are these available in Canadian Walmarts or do we screwed yet again. We always seem to be behind or don't get stocked at all, luckily we got some jurassic world stuff that is more rare in the States. I know it's worse in the uk and Australia but Canada is so close, I actually feel more American since I never watch Canadian tv or follow our politics, I practilcy know everytime Trump takes a shit but could tell you one thing that Trudeau is up to.

Hmm I guess I don't get these. Everyone makes fun of the Kenner figures from back in the day for being goofy but these look way worse to me. Yes I have nostalgia from collecting all the figures from the '90s but even when I look through them as an adult they seem to have better detail and obviously better coloring. Now that being said I am all for more products in the Alien universe and especially ones to get new younger fans interested in the series.

Update, for xenomorph and any other who actually collect toys.
My wallmart had 4 queens on the shelf and nothing else, lol the queens were 19.98 each, I bought them all lol.
I'll check for the others when night shift is over.
It all depends on what boxes get cut open in the toy department first.
Obviously your store missed the queen. But I'm sure you keep checking and she will pop up soon.

Also the queen alien is alot of fun to play with, her tongue is attached to some kind of springy swivel in her neck so when you move her head around her tongue will shoot out and than back in at different angles. She is quite cool and a much better queen alien toy than the 1 we got in the 90's. I just wish she wasn't a fan of prince lmfao, big purple bitch haha
I might do a YouTube video once I get them all. The queen has me really excited to see her full lineup of friends.

I managed to get most of these at my local Walmart on my lunch break, but I won't get to open them until I get home. I got all of them except for the Queen Alien (I don't know if that one is even out, though).

Update - the Queen was up for order in the Walmart app for retail price with free delivery to the store so I ordered one, it'll arrive by 1/13 or sooner.

I love this nostalgic toy line, but I find it really weird that kid toys for this R-rated franchise are coming out now.  It was a little odd back in the 90's, but this just doesn't happen anymore.

I hope this isn't somehow Disney testing the waters for kid-friendly Alien content.

I picked up the big chap version (yellow). The packaging is really attractive. The alien has 14 points of articulation and it feels solid. The head pops off easy but it's no biggy. The sculpt is actually pretty good too.  I'm surprised at how good it looks in person. The jaw looks like it's a little cartoony. The rest is about like the movie. The Marine looks silly but its Rock solid and has a removable helmet. The alien egg is good overall. It could be better. The facehugger is about the same. It's a good price at $10. You're getting 4 toys at that price. It probably explains why the Alien is head and shoulders above the other pieces in the package. They had the full run at our store. The queen is pretty damn big
Whereabouts in the toy section did you find them?
