Sigourney Weaver Reprises as Ripley in Samantha Bee Skit

Sigourney Weaver was back as Ripley in a skit for the late-night talk and news satire show ‘Full Frontal with Samantha Bee.’ The comedy short recreates the scene in Aliens where Ripley chases ‘Newt’ into the air ducts.

Rather than ‘Newt,’ Ripley is chasing after Samantha Bee, who is hiding from covering the upcoming 2020 US presidential election. The skit kicked off the ‘Not the White House Correspondents’ Dinner event hosted by Bee.

“In space, no one can hear you scream…about the importance of journalism. Intrepid travelers Sigourney Weaver, Katie Couric, Ali Velshi, and Rebecca Traister will protect it with their lives. Directed by Allana Harkin. Produced by Allana Harkin with Julie Levitsky. Edited by Jesse Coane.”

Weaver shared a photo with the cast playing the Colonial Marines on the set recreating the Hadley’s Hope colony corridor. It looks like they all had a great time.

Weaver also played Ripley in another skit for ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ back in 2017. Even if it’s for a parody, it’s always good to see Sigourney Weaver back as Ripley.

Most of that is just lost on me
As someone who lives in the USA and is bombarded by political bullshit non-stop 24/7, I envy your ignorance.

Don't worry, us Brits have our own political embarrassments or two
Being from the Czech Republic, I'm also being reserved in making fun of these two countries' political situation...we have our issues too...

Most countries do.  But the US and UK right now are next level.
    yep, indeed they are ...

I'm kind of surprised to see her in something like this. She's looking great though. I really hope to get another alien movie with her. Especially with everything she's been a part of within the last week. Her love for the series is still very strong.

I'm not entirely versed on Brexit other than what John Oliver taught me on Last Week Tonight, and I'm certainly not going to get into a dick-measuring contest about which country is stupider. :D

I will say that the only thing that keeps me sane re: American politics is a discussion thread I follow on another forum that follows everything 24/7 and makes fun of it non-stop. It's f**king hilarious and helps keep me from seeing it all as horribly depressing. Hooray...? ???
