NECA Reveals Neomorph & Xenomorph Alien Covenant Figures

Ah, yes, Alien Covenant has finally been released for all you Americans. Let us know what you thought of the flick by posting your thoughts in the Fan Reviews thread in the forum. Meanwhile here’s some Alien merchandise news. NECA have finally taken the wraps off their Neomorph and Xenomorph figures based on the creatures from the new Alien movie.

Neomorph

The Neomorph figure is 9″ tall and comes with an interchangeable head as well as lots of different points of articulation and a bendable tail. The smaller Neomorph figure is also included. You can preorder the Neomorph for £31.99 on Forbidden Planet or $22.99 on BigBadToyStore.

Xenomorph

The iconic Xenomorph is 10″ tall and features a extendable inner jaw, lots of articulation and bendable tail. You can preorder the Xenomorph for £31.99 on Forbidden Planet or $24.99 on BigBadToyStore.

Accessory Pack

Finally the Creature Pack can be used for dioramas and includes 2 Facehuggers, 1 open egg, 1 closed egg, 1 smaller Neomorph and 1 “Chestburster”. They call it a Chestburster but in reality it’s the miniature Xenomorph we see in the film. You can preorder the Xenomorph for £30.99 on Forbidden Planet or $22.99 on BigBadToyStore.

All the NECA Alien Covenant figures will be released some time next month. Will you be buying any of the figures to add to your collection? The Xenomorph figure is definitely top-notch.

I am looking forward to the Protomorph and Neomorph figures - especially the Neomorph (I am planning to get one of the spares and convert into a Yautja spawned Neomorph). And the accessory pack looks SWEEEEEEEET!

Shame there's not going to be any human characters made.

I saw a lot of A3 Ripleys warming the shelves. All of the marines that have been released have sold out super fast in comparison though. The only place I see those is my local comic store, but they do order a lot at one time.

The figures are what was in the film. Go see the movie again, you'll see.
No they aren't, even NECA themselves have admitted that.

Which human figures are you looking forward to coming out first?

Mine are Tennessee, Ledward and Upworth.
    Have they confirmed human figures?

I heard that they confirmed they will not be doing human figures. Kinda sucks because I really wanted some colonist fodder for my hive. Walter doesn't technically count as human though

No human figures?! Ohh that's bad news. Especially with all the cool weapons and I liked the gear better than the blue tights from Prometheus.

I feel ya... Human characters usually end up as shelf warmers though. I remember NECA saying saying that even popular human character figures would sit around... plus there's always the issue of getting the rights to individual actors likeliness.
I see what they mean as I frequent toy stores often and yeah, tons of human figures.
Yeah, I still see "Alien3 Ripley" and "Amanda Ripley" figures warming the pegs to this day. Bishop figures lingered on shelves for a really long time, which is a shame because Bishop is awesome and the figure's likeness is fantastic and everyone and their mother should own a Lance Henriksen action figure.

YEAH! I took personal offense to there being so many Bishop figures being neglected. I was so excited for it's release and couldn't get my hands on it fast enough!

But anyway... human figures mostly tend to be peg warmers.

I ordered the Neomorph and the Creature set because I have no self control. Lookat all those cute sons though???
The actual alien/xenomorph one still looks like total trash to me. So disappointing...  Hopefully other companies make a better looking collectible of him that I can snatch up.

After seeing the movie last night, the Neomorphs do look like the Neca figures in several scenes, it's just hard to tell since they move so fast. I think most people are referring to the scene with David and the Neomorph where it's face was completely relaxed and having almost no texture at all. But during the fight scenes they do look like the figures.

The Neomorph doesn't look like that in the film either. It's much more soft in appearance...more flesh-like. The jaws don't really look like that either. What were the people at NECA looking at when they sculpted these anyway? A concept design? At no time in the film does EITHER Neomorph have that jagged, lumpy appearance. I'll pass...
In the one publicity photo were its attacking daniels it does have a rough skin texture and a bumpier head.

As I stated earlier, Neca confirmed that they only had access to the practical suits when sculpting these.
That's why the Neomorph  and Xeno look different than what was on screen.
    Not Neca's fault.
No one is saying it's NECA's fault that the designs were changed, although I'd hope they'll learn from this experience and perhaps wait until the studio actually confirms the official final designs before committing resources to making sculpts and molds.

We may know the truth behind the design process because we're more dedicated fans, but it's NECA that's going to have egg on their face when John Q Public sees the figures on the pegs at Toys R Us and says "Wtf, they didn't look like this in the movie???"

Edit-- especially when BBTS's product listing literally says "this screen accurate version". If that's BBTS just embellishing the product listing, that makes NECA look bad. If that's actually quoted verbatim from NECA's own product description, then that is NECA's fault.

Edit again-- it's quoted from NECA themselves. The designs being changed isn't something you can blame NECA for, but false advertising sure is. :P

That's exactly how the creature looked in both test screenings that I saw. I don't think any of this was NECA's fault. It was redone in post.
