New Picture of Ridley Scott & Michael Fassbender on the Set of Alien: Covenant!

Thanks to the various Alien social media accounts we have a brand new picture of Ridley Scott & Michael Fassbender on the set of Alien: Covenant!

New Picture Of Ridley Scott & Michael Fassbender on the Set of Alien: Covenant! New Picture of Ridley Scott & Michael Fassbender on the Set of Alien: Covenant!

New Picture Of Ridley Scott & Michael Fassbender on the Set of Alien: Covenant!

Simply captioned “Creator. Creation. ‪#‎AlienCovenant‬” this latest picture reveals nothing of the story. We can see Michael Fassbender in the background, sporting a brown haircut and a completely different hair style to the David 8 we saw in Prometheus. It is likely that this is the “doppelganger” that Ridley Scott said Fassbender would be portraying alongside the David 8 from Prometheus.

We get a first half-glimpse at Carmen Ejogo in what appears to be a white top perhaps suggesting a scientific or medical role amongst the crew? We can also see one of the new space costume helmets that Janty Yates spoke about back in December.

He said he was impressed by the script.  Scott Free was also interested in producing it.  For a movie that's currently not in production, anything said about it should be considered very carefully.

    For sure... Here,  lookie!  Lookie!

...and yes.  Scott is a sly old Fox.  He will mess with your head.  Do you really think his statements about Blomkamp's 'ALIENS' movie should go unquestioned?   Have a good about everything he's said about that movie and have a good think about his handling of 'ALIEN: Covenant'.

It wouldn't surprise me if its her he likes to keep things secret.

Remember he did the same thing with the c-section scene where he filmed it secretly with just him and Rapace and didn't tell anyone not even the cast till way after filming was over. 8)

Well of course, I either dont believe thats Noomi,
but I very much expect to see something related to her in Covenant!!!

P.S. I do not expect to see that Daniels is somehow connected with Ripley!
    Thats stupid narrative idea.
  5. Enoch
She will be at least mentioned and she ll most probably appear at one point.
Thats the only normal way of storytelling. Even if she is dead, there could
be some logs or digital (holographic recordings) of her that could serve as fine
    plot element.

If they do not mention her at all, well thats a sign of serious
problem with Ridley and his team of writers!
  6. Enoch
Noomi Rapace and her character Elizabeth Shaw will appear!!!
    Thats for sure! But dont forget that this new series of movies (from Covenant) will not have main character;
Ridley said that his main character will be story itself!

Of course main characters aside from the story will be David, his twin brother
    and Daniels.

We ll  not get all the answers, and this movie will keep
all the mystery that previous ones very well set. We ll find out
who created Xenos, but the answer could be all the more mysterious and shocking!

I haven't rewatched Prometheus for a while now, so I'm a little hazy. But wasn't David always slinking off to receive "orders" from the sleeping/dreaming Weyland for most of the movie?

When Weyland dies, presumably David is no longer "owned" by his primary user Weyland. Whether or not that means David is then even more/less of a loose cannon who knows.

His gesture towards Shaw (seemingly helpful) to find a spare ship - thats the first time we see David without Weyland's influence, right?

He's dependent on Shaw to get somewhere he can repair himself and that won't be earth, Bishop in Alien said he could never become the same again..so David needs to go somewhere with superior technology, he just needs Shaw to get to a ship, after that probably to help him move around too?

    They need a https://www.avpgalaxy.net/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.thesba.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2012%2F01%2Fcart.png&hash=8feca9732a73d6285824e5f66fb2bf887e3604f3
for David to lie in while Shaw drives him around, lol
once they get to planet-Paradise, he'll give her errands to fetch stuff for him once they have found the main laboratory until he can create a new body, by then Shaw would have grown tired of it, so she splits n goes all Tombraider looking for temples n shit

Poor poor David, all alone now, nobody to watch a re-run of Lawrence of Arabia with...so he makes a phone-call back to earth "hey gais, want to watch a great movie? I got loads of chips! and btw, I found this planet with humanoids that created us for some reason, m'kay?"

Im not sure where Im getting this idea from, but isn't DAVID 8, essentially supposed to be the first model android that can rightfully integrate with humans? I sort have got it in my head watching Prometheus that there aren't many other models of Androids out there, functioning in a crew, as David is.
Isn't David 8 supposed to be the first model android to be used the way we are used to seeing them be used throughout the series?
Because that's how I was taking it. Curious if anybody else was also seeing it this way.

Oh, certainly; The David8 commercial says it all. "What is it about robots that makes them so robotic?" but changing all that is... David!  :)

I think the only real source for that kind of info is from the advertising stuff. The DVD mentioned it being SOP to send David 8s out with crews too. I don't think anything in the movie really alludes to anything specific either way.

Wasn't there an implication of terraforming in Prometheus? Supposedly in the John Spaights script Alien Engineers had the plot of Weyland or somebody who sole interested in finding the engineers was to obtain technology for terraforming purposes. It seems Scott is incorporating/exploring an element in Aliens by James Cameron. It'd be funny/awkward if one of these prequel had reference to the prison Fiorina 161 but by Blomkamp's movie it doesn't take Alien 3 in canon.   :P

Yeah, there's some definite links to Aliens in that Spaihts' script. You've got the whole terraforming angle being the main motivation for the trip and there's a slight kind of nod in that the pyramids are acting as atmospheric processors, kind of evoking that design of the AP from Aliens too. To be honest, how much of that was Spaihts or Ridley, I don't know.

I have no issue with this. We saw it with Prometheus too - Scott is going back to old designs from Alien that he didn't get to use. Here's hoping for a proper egg silo.

David 8 in Prometheus didn't seem like he was behaving as he was advertised to do, in the original commercial. I think he was modified, or, like in Blade Runner, started to develop his own thought responses-- you know, love, hate, fear, envy?

That, or Weyland removed certain safeguards that would normally be in place to allow David 8 to be more flexible in carrying out Weyland's orders.

Or, David was underestimated by his own creators, being more intelligent and self-aware than anyone anticipated. After all, Weyland said David lacked a soul, but if his behavior was his own, wasn't programed, perhaps Weyland was wrong about David.

The cool thing about Prometheus is that it's never explained, or explicitly stated in the film, and any of these explanations is possible, given David's enigmatic and duplicitous nature. Beneath that comely and calm visage lurked a cunning menace.

I have a strong feeling that David and his doppelganger will play crucial role in this PARADISE LOST movie! Symbolic is clear! But David will not be the ultimate creator of Alien! Creature that created black goo is the creator of Xeno, and Engineers did not create goo! I received some infos that suggest Covenant will indeed explore more mythological/religious themes! Those themes would not be pure repilica of Paradise Lost story or other related mythos, but the implications would be pretty clear, after all Ridley said that he imagined that kind of scenario all along. How do I know this, well I asked people involved and two of them wrote me that this movie is not going to be what we expect at all.

We ll most probably get hints of an entity above Engineers, and Engineers are just advanced humans (no more no less!!!) trying to play gods. What will happen if their creation or creation of their creation (David) try to do the same! ???
What happened to them (Engineers), probably will struck humans. I belive that we already seen "Devil" (bad guy) in this story (Engineers, humans and David). Weyland said that humans are the gods now, they are the titan Prometheus (Satan or Lucifer). Now its the time to see who is God? And the hints regarding this entry will be very interesting and not what we expect. We will not see complete anwers to all the questions! I have reliable confirmation about that.

Who is evil guy in this story. I belive that the answer would be humans!
Who made Covenant and with whom?
