Gametrailers has just posted up a new 10 min video preview for Aliens: Colonial Marines in which we can see new footage from the game. Also interviews with the developers, the game’s composer and even actor Lance Henriksen (Bishop) on his thoughts about Sega’s and Gearbox Software’s upcoming title and the movie Aliens.

No ALIEN is canon to them, just because without it Aliens wouldn't exist. Honestly hardcore Aliens fanboys don't give two shits about the masterpiece known as Alien...
No, they're also going to tell us that the fossilized space jockey in Alien is actually a smaller humanoid in a suit.
Bastards... They better give us a Runner skin as compensation to the fans of Alien³. What's next? They gonna delete ALIEN from Canon and say that only Aliens and...*disgusted look* Prometheus exist?!
When Hicks and newt died, it was sad but so were the deaths of everyone else in the first two movies. Except for Burke, lol
I don't hold it against them for killing them off instead of keeping them in the third movie. That's the direction they decided to take, and the movie as a whole stood up on its own. I loved Alien3 back when it came out in the theater. It was a solid movie.
Seriously, the WY commandos have such an iconic look. They look awesome - why not going along with similar designs when designing other types of WY armor? The only answer to that is that they don't want to pay any tribute to Alien 3 whatsoever. They've made that clear.
And ditching the Runner is just unforgivable, especially when they do it in favor to introduce the uninspiring and cartoony looking Spitter xeno.
I miss the runner from Alien3; wish they had incorporated it into the game. Maybe the lurker can be customized to look like the runner from Alien3? That would be cool.
It just goes to show you something thats meant to be seen for a blip of second in the movie is likely to play an important vital role in this game. Horrible design and all. Baseball cap anybody? Mickey Mouse ears darling? CANONBIBLE!
Of course! I mean, so far they've done everything to remove and erase all traces from Alien 3 so far. They pay no tribute to Elliot Goldenthal's superior alien movie score from Alien 3 (which according to me is one of the best scores ever no matter the movie). The W&Y Soldiers don't look like the ones from Alien 3 and the Runner xeno seems to have been exchanged for the utterly stupid Spitter xeno. Claiming that Hicks is alive is just the last nail in the coffin and the ultimate revenge for the little fan-boys out there who have been butt-hurt for over 20 years now.
I really hope it's not this - it would really undermine the whole point of the Bishop character. But if Gearbox do go down that road, I'd be very interested to hear what Mr Cameron thinks of it.
that's what devs do when they have no time or resources to make wound textures or model correct mutilation.

It was Bishop, He was a company droid anyway, He probably had time when Hicks passed out and Ripley rescued Newt... Thats probably why he left when he said it was "becoming too unstable"

Except the hard core "alien 3 isn't canon they killed hix'n noot" crowd. Hicks surviving is just lube for them.
Hope to see more footage and hopefully singleplayer, if I have to watch any more off cam multiplayer videos or interviews with old footage I'm going to scream.
Weyland Yutani are gonna end up being responsible for the mysterious egg inside the Sulaco... Hicks is gonna be found alive at some point... the unrecognizable dead body in the cryotube in Alien3 just belongs to some poor Company dude that Hicks threw in there while trying to escape from the ship.
We are gonna fight a space jockey-Xenomorph... and it aint gonna be a fully grown Deacon.
And the story is gonna be hated by most due to it being terrible fanwank.
(Interesting to see how many of these i get right when the game is released.)
