An Aliens: Colonial Marines competition was held at Alienware’s PAX Prime booth this weekend. Alienware has now uploaded a recording of the game session online which includes over fifty minutes of Alien and Marine team deathmatch gameplay footage.
You can watch the video below or grab it here (1, 2, 3).

Meh, at least it's included in the game. At this point I'm just holding on for dear life.
So much for the Acid being something that will f**k you up.
Did I see a marine kill an alien mid-execution? And the downed marine lived?
Whaaaaaaaaat
I was going to post a picture of 'Operation' then as a sort of update but I thought, maybe not
So seriously now; is that the current version of the minigame, or an American joke I'm unaware of?
How did you get the screenshot, by the way?
Actually they had that in the AVP '10 campaign once or twice; but it was pretty much just plug in the Bypass unit, defend the area from a swarm of xenos for a minute or two, then disconnect it and move on through the doorway...

Not to mention that for Burke to have survived Aliens, he would have had to have had a steel plate in his head and something more menacing than his corporate fists and steel-toed boots.

Realistically, we can probably assume the aliens would've taken Hudson and Burke back to where the hive was if they're alive (Burke is even shown cocooned in a deleted scene), but that all blows up moments later.
and I asked some other question in other thread that could be also fitting here:

and one more thing: I think the mention of encountering Hudson or Burke in some form was too much for the G4TV presenter

Im not sure whether not that would be awesome or horrible; I guess it depends on how they present it
Same old same old; Randy having fangasms, and old footage. Still, nice to see a female marine on multiplayer mood
Haha well met, brother
By the by, I was kind referencing Kryten from Red Dwarf if you didn't catch that; "No silicon heaven??... but where would all the calculators go??" hehe.
Thanks for keeping on top of things ikarop, do you work in marketing or something?
Hmmmmmmmm... You got a point, Carrier, maybe?
Give us a Ravager!!!

Sounds good but Jesus H.... did a 12 year old write this hands on report?
I am tired of every video being about, how this is a sequel! Its not, im sorry. Its just a another video game.
and lmao at "yes, you should buy two copies. leave one copy in the plastic."

Also, skip right to the end to see quite a good firefight (if you could call it that, it's more just the GBX xenos co-ordinating an ambush on the packed-together marine team) but it did remind me a lot of the second fight scene in the aliens movie, but with more action and beheadings - which brings me to my next compliment, I am quite surprised (in a good way) that they implemented beheadings and complete limb removal into the combat, which makes it quite a bit gorier (possibly even encorporating a more serious element, although the spitter possibly cancels that out lol) than the movies IMO.
...AVP2 had a better premise than this game...
Yeah, I can't imagine more than a fraction of people are going to go "The colony is still there? Big glowing bulbs on an Aliens head? Your product offends me and it shall not receive my coinage! Good day to you, sir!" Probably a few people will hold off until the reviews come in, but ultimately a huge chunk of Alien fandom will shell out for it.
...on second thought the beer is probably what did it. it usually makes me say shit too.
I don't think Gearbox realizes that, though they blabber on about canon and authenticity while royally screwing up several key, key elements of the series, they're actually falling in line to continue the f**king facepalm canon mess that we've all been enjoying for the past decade plus.
They think they're winning, when they're losing, but they're still winning, because in Aliens canon, when you lose, you really win.
Dunno if these Aliens will make sense in the context of the game. If it ends up they're all geneticially engineered, it's the same ballpark as the Newborn.
Yup. The aliens in A:R were spitters. The Bambi Burster in Alien3 was also spitter and yet it has no representation (that we've seen so far in A:CM). Instead, we get something with glowing bulbs that resembles something from the EU instead of something from the actual canon.
Still, I haven't seen anything as ridiculous as the newborn despite every new breed of alien looking worse than the previous.
I suppose things could be worse...
A specific class of Alien that spits is as pointless and redundant, as saying something is pointless and redundant. If they want true accuracy to the films then all Aliens should be able to spit.
But this isn't a movie - it's a game and things like spitters and other classes that have no place in a film, can suit a game context.
Base
less.Who says that the spitter doesn't fit into canon? We know nothing of them, or their origins. Please tell me how they're "screwing up" the lore. I really do hate baseless accusations.
They like to keep telling people that as if it'll buy them some sort of legitimacy.
@2:28 - "Right now this video game is going in canon. This story line, all the things we put into this game are part of the official ALIENS bible."
You gotta be shitting me...
If they truly think the Runner would be too fragile for the role, then they shouldn't be making this game. At least, not until they refamiliarize themselves with the films. It's a freak'n Alien for crying out loud. By default, that makes it tough enough.
If they aren't in single-player, Gearbox should put them in single-player. Likewise, if they aren't in multiplayer they should put them in multiplayer. Not create a whole new Alien for a role that's already filled. Especially one with glowing "Hey, over hear! Shoot me!" bull's-eyes on it's head. What was Randy and his team thinking? *facepalm*
The Spitters irritate me so much because Gearbox is always swearing up and down, "authenticity this, authenticity that" when they're screwing up even the most basic Alien lore. I'm realizing more and more Gearbox wasn't the right developer for the job. The only thing they got going for them is the enthusiasm. Which, is starting to get annoying. I'm fairly sure we've all seen their interviews and commentary.
