I see no problem with it, I just hope they make some extended vents which may involve travelling through the ceiling and under the floor grates. I would think the fact the camera zooms to a first person perspective would have satisfied all the FPS "immersion" nuts out there, but overall I agree with PredatorsInstinct in that it's a nice feature overlooked in AVP 2010.

The 'apparent' decision to not include the 'alien life-cycle' does disappoint me though. It's one of the first things you think of when you hear the word "xenomorph" and although it may have been tough to implement due to balance issues and the like; with a dedicated game mode for the 'life-cycle' I think they could have served the lore (and Aliens movie) well, thus satisfying those die-hard fans out there... just my 2 penneth  ;).

Yes I saw that, and it was disappointing. They don't actually crawl into any vents, the xeno goes up to a hole in the wall and pushes a button to zoom the camera in, and then hops out the other side.

How do they fit in those small cubby holes? Do their long tails hang out in the hallway? Do they become invisible? What happens when two xenos try to enter the same vent from opposite ends? Are they going to tag-team the wall with their banana heads?
  3. Predaker
Are there going to be any actual vents in the game for the alien players to move around in? So far all I can see are these little holes in the wall and the screen prompts you to push "X" to enter.

Shame you can't place the sentry guns where you want though.  I see there's a blue outline of where you have to place it.

That was from older footage and I know someone asked them about it and I believe that the blue outline was there for the sake of the demo and exists for casual players to know where to place the Turret but you can place it almost anywhere.

It was there for demo purpose. Sentrys can be placed anywhere, just need to be tactical about the position and where the Xenos are coming from

Hallelujah!!! This is what had me the most disturbed from the "meh"  E3 demo they showed last year, or whatever year it was. Well, that's one positive thing about this game that I can add to my list of pros and cons.

    Ahhhh.....sweet!

In regards to red dots on the motion tracker - I think these are important for the casual player also.  It has to be playable to the masses to make money.

It would be nice to have an option to make them all white for the die hards though.  Sure it couldn't be that difficult to programme!!

This does look SOOOOO awesome.  An Aliens fan's dream!

It does look very scripted, but for that immersive movie-canon feel.....it needs to be.  It can't be a part of the canon, if everyone is getting different endings etc.

Can't decide whether to get this on PS3 or spend bucks on a top of the range gaming computer nearer the time!!

Girlfriend, social life....goodbye....hello Aliens: CM!!!  Where have you been my whole life?!  ;) ;D

    Maybe it's disinformation?
I remember some game doing that. Along with a movie.

Maybe they'll release it as DLC. Who knows. I'm not gonna' get mad about it until it's been absolutely confirmed by the game's multiplayer menu itself.

Not sure about the Crusher mode.  It takes up a massive chunk of the screen.

I didn't find his excuse for not having playable huggers terribly convincing.  Just say "We wanted to concentrate on the adults" or something.

... I swear to God if Fox made them introduce Predators in this game at all...

I hope that "secret" isn't the location of the xenomorph homeworld, if there is one.

And after Alien 3? So... Runner's confirmed?

The PRs rate of fire is slow because it needs to be upgraded. As it reaches its fully upgraded state it will probably give us the movie sound, correct rate of fire and ect.
Thats exactly what I said 2 pages ago  >:(

I think I noticed something. I may be wrong but isn't the PR fire rate slower than the previous AvP games' PRs ? This can explain the wrong sound. Also if there is a rapid fire perk/mod, and we add it with our PR class - this will result in the "original" sound. If that's the case, I am fine with the "wrong" sound. But in my opinion in ACM this gotta be the opposite way - the default fire rate (original sound) brings high recoil but if we add mod for slower fire rate, this will increase the accuracy and change the sound to its current state (wrong version)  :)

The video was a little choppy. The alien was possibly strafing a little when it jumped, as the animations are still being polished. It didn't necessarily change direction in mid-air.

Good eye to catch that hiccup!

All non-friendlies are marked as possible threats I guess. Just doesn't bug me that much given the situation.

Radiation aliens, boring Alien AI and an undestroyed colony are higher on my "annoying shit this game is doing" list
