Lucy Hutchinson plays the main character, Elizabeth Shaw, as a child in Prometheus. In a recent interview with a newspaper, she has revealed that the scene she worked on is considered crucial by Ridley Scott. You can read the full interview with the young star below:
Thanks to seeasea for the news.
Big things do have small beginnings after all.
Gives a whole new meaning to what all that milky white fluid in Ash and Bishop could be, doesn't it?
That would only be logical if artificial components, like metal and plastic, had DNA.
They don't.
That sounds to be the most likely to me.
True. I think - I hope - that this appears when she is in hypersleep. I suspect that shot of David in the yellow goggles is when he's accessing the sleeper's dreams (which would be a nice nod to Alan Dean Foster's novelizations) and he sees Shaw dreaming about her childhood.
Also, childhood flashbacks are one of the laziest plot devices out there. I hope Riddles does it right.

David's first directive is to hand out Werthers Originals.
Or maybe Shaw has a dream of David8 with her as a child in the dream.
My thoughts exactly!
Alllllright.
Getting??

You peeplz is gettin' crazy
But the writer(s) might, even though it's going to be the one thing the audience is almost expecting to see.

An android heroine...that has so much potential.
That is what I am talking about the flashbacks might be jsut implemented memories, like the unicorn dream Deckard had. Otherwise why bother with childhood flashbacks?
Ever seen "Contact" with Jodie Foster (1997!!!). That's exactly what happens.
@zuzuki - We're on the same level
Or she's the second android...
Just question.

What he said
maybe a David 7 model that Shaw met somewhere when she was young? maybe her parents owned one?
You think she might travel through a wormhole and meet a hologram of her dad on a beach? Wasn't that in one of those bogus scripts...
i kind of hope that "explains some of her motivations" doesn't mean Shaw loses her parents at a young age or something, because that would be cheesy as fuq
