In about three hours time, a brand new Prometheus trailer will be appearing in the first ad break of Homeland on Channel 4 in the UK. The trailer will be broadcast at around 9.10PM (1:10PM PST, 4:10PM EST) after which viewers will be invited to share their thoughts via Twitter using the hashtag #areyouseeingthis. During the second ad break these responses will be aired live on screen for viewers to see.
The trailer was recently rated by the BBFC as a 12A and has a runtime of 3m20s. For those of you outside of the UK, you can stream Channel 4 live on LiveTVCafe.net or TV-Place.net. The new trailer is rumoured to appear on iTunes at some point afterwards. Thanks to Valaquen for the news.
Has there been any talk of the actual size of the Prometheus crew in total? Seems like there's about 20 people on board.
Mmno. Let the beast rest.
Anyone starting to think that somehow all the crew get infected and the xenomorph/facehugger being able to "adapt" to everything it attaches adapts to their helmets and that's why the aliens in the movies later on have those domed shaped skulls as part of their 'mutations'?
I'm thinking Milburn is the one with the total helmet melting, giving him an early and horrible exit from the film
i think so too, after Vickers barbecued him /them
We've seen them before, though. They've been wielding flamethrowers since the teaser trailer and look like a heavier version of a suit for more industrial work.
With this last trailer sort of confirming it for me, I expect this film to be almost completely unlike ALIEN and more like a 50's/60's sci-fi/horror with an inflated budget. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, but I was kinda hoping for something more atmospheric and spooky, without any potential for camp or wooden dialogue--"Do you have some kind of agenda in this, Ms. Vickers?" Oh lord.
Expecting this to be a solid blockbuster. Not expecting it to be in the same league as the original trilogy. At any rate, bring on June 8th!
Notice that they are wearing different space suits than the Prometheus crew.
good idea!
i'm still thinking it's an optical illusion tho
Has to be Fifield before he goes apeshit in the cargo bay? Judging from the scorch marks ... he's already felt some of that heat? God ... Sweeper ... we must have this NOW!
I'm digging these bulkier suits too.
Too me it looks like the mask/helmet is peeling off and revealing the Jockey's severed head underneath, before it explodes from an unknown reason.

This shot freaks me the f**k out of me.
Glad to see there'll be some red shirts in the movie, look like deck crewmen. Preeetty sure they're about to be horrifically slaughtered.
Oops - I meant Fifield, sorry - he's the guy with the mohawk.
There might be 2 not 1 with helmet 'trouble', Milburn being the other one. The shot I posted really looks like Fifield - I don't see any glasses either...
Thx MrSpaceJockey
@OpenMaw - I'm thinking they remove the helmet, revealing the head inside - placing it inside the shielding for contamination reasons. That green goo sure looks like the xeno acid blood...
This and the fact that the head seems to explode from the brain out, i'd bet that they at least attempt to use this on that head.
That's because that's the face behind the mask.
It works, it's a matter of the change in depth too. If you're losing an inch off the front for the mask to reveal the face, that would explain the change in perspective.
Besides, who says they actually use their eyes to look out the "holes" in the helmet? More than likely we're dealing with some kind of a biogenic link. The helmet having it's own eyes entirely, so they don't have to match up necessarily.
To be honest, if it turns out the Space Jockey's really do look like us under the helmet, we're never going to know for sure what this is til the movie comes out.
Fifield's the one with the mohawk. Milburn's the one with the glasses.
If it is ... he sure does recover nicely from that liquid glass facial he gets. Wow.
creepy! i would love it
Thank you for posting this. I've been trying to say that wasn't human.
idk. the 'eyes' on the exploded head seem to be too high up to match with the untouched jockey helmet
maybe we're seeing what we want to see
Imo there's a humanoid nose ridge and deep humanoid eyesockets visible. Those features are not on the helmet design.
Did anyone catch that the guy who seems to have helmet trouble we already knew about, looks like Milburn. Isn't that his red mohawk?

I said the Jockey's head anyway not the helmet, we already know it gets removed, this probably has something to do with why the head explodes
"WEYLAND INDUSTRIES SYNAPSE REESTABLISHER"
"Another remarkable technological feat from Weyland scientists, the Synapse Reestablisher, through precise, minute electrical innervation, awakens dormant neurons in the brain tissue of deceased or dying patients. This delicate technology is highly sensitive and restricted to a select group of doctors and scientists. The 9 existing Reestablishers have been in use for the past 2 years in medical schools and biotech research centers for experimental use only, pending FDA investigation."
Imagine a scene of a dead jockey head coming back to life, it would be completley disturbing and at the same time echo the Ash reanimation scene from Alien, before an adverse reaction of sorts causes the brain to explode?
Probs just my f**ked up imagination in overdrive tho
It's the same face of the ship. The one in the ship is crying.. maybe for his life? What if that guy got infected with one of these snakes, living in his head?
You decide.
There are at least two trips out, which would echo the original Dan O'Bannon script for the first film which was cut down (removing the temple, etc) for budget. Remember: the Nostromo crew finds the decapitated head of a jockey, examines it in their lab, then goes back out to discover the temple and the eggs. Sound familiar?
That's been in the mix for quite sometime I believe.
Ford was helping the suffering Holloway(?) back into the ship. Looks like they were met with Vickers and a flamethrower? Dunno. Confused. Like it that way too.
On second thought that does look like one of the Engineer's head. Remember during one trailer it showed the same scene only that time it had a SJ "helme" so what if they remove the "helmet" and his head explodes? That certainly does not look human to me in my opinion.
I think Fords in the room with the exploding head too, unless that's what you're talking about. I'm also very confused about the order. All for the better, I think.
Can this be the back view of what we earlier called SJ's helmet-head? Because we actually never saw the back of it!..
Sure does. Mixed with an albino king cobra.
******
That helmet exploding with all that milky substance splattering. Yeah. Subtle.
Loving the space suits that seem to graft onto the wearers. Looks like the suits+humans will = something very xeno looking after all.
Melting visor to face ... wtf ...
Looks like Ford makes it out of the temple alive.
SO confused about what order these could be in.
Looks like a burnt and melted face just before it explodes.
Nice find!
Extrapolating from what we've seen here - David or the crew watch holographic projections of multiple Engineers. At least one is running. Is it being pursued? Did it kill the others?
I don't think it is. The background is the same as the shot where they're studying the decapitated jockey head.
You are referring to 1:49 in the video, right?
I'm guessing the thing explodes when examined by one of Prometheus' scanners.
Not anymore, it's in the middle of shattering, but it's definitely the same thing as the Jockey head. It's the same room going by the background.
The jockey helmet most likely belongs to a statue; which has a sculpted head too. In the laboratory they take the helmet off, and that is what they get.
That is definately not the helmet. Besides, it appears that it is located behind protective glass shielding when it blows up
Hmmmm, it looks like the SJ helmet still to me.
What? Looks more like it's melting to me.
