Fox has released a new viral video via their official website www.weylandindustries.com. The video plays as an ad for a new line of Synthetics from Weyland Corp. and shows what appears to be Michael Fassbender as David 8. The tag line “Big things have small beginnings”, which some may remember from previous leaked material, can be heard on the video. You can download the viral here in HQ.

According to Collider.com: ” During the pic’s WonderCon panel earlier today, fans were given cards from Weyland Corp that directed them to a website and a phone number. If you call the number, an operator informs you that all Weyland Corp lines are busy, but calls your attention to a text message you’ve just received. The text message gives you a link that directs you to a truly spectacular video narrated by one of the film’s stars.“
Stay tuned for more coverage on WonderCon coming soon. Thanks to movielord101 for the link.
Alien Commentary. Ridley himself hypothesized about it. But it sounded like he was guessing himself.
But I think he probably has a "junk" that is simply incapable of erection, impotent.
That's what the "substitute" rape was for.
Seriously, I am not making this up, I've heard this somewhere on here before.
And it's a safe bet the Ash unit came complete with 'a unit' considering his 'mission.' Considering the close quarters contact the crew had coming out of hyperspace and their general living conditions it would seem like a stupid move on the company to send in a secret imposter android who is also a eunuch. Worse than a eunuch ... a Ken Doll. One slip of the space boxers and it's "Game Over" for the ruse.
Androids make for bad lovers.

and that that is the reasen for his "magazine-rape" on Ripley.
Apologies.
Did Ash have genitals? You decide.
I don't they can be used for that.
Or can they?
Agreed.

I've gotta agree with this. It seems it would bring words such as "stunning", "haunting", and possibly even "beautiful" to mind as opposed to terror. Especially after previous models, this one displays the pinnacle of innovation for them. As soon as I saw the video was meant to be a commercial, I tried to get myself into the mindset of somebody that far in the future, and when that happened it stuck with me in a very odd way... like an mesh between organic life and something created on an assembly line.

What do you mean my this (highlighted) exactly? David was the first model, Ash, Bishop and Call all came after...or do you mean earlier models of David, as stated in the Weyland timeline, which is fair enough??
They want people to buy them - not get creeped the f**k out!!
I get a very "Aperture Science" vibe from it.
Just imagining the end of the unpacking process.
"Hello, I am David. Could you please remove the Styrofoam blocks from my face?"
"Thanks a bunch, pal."
I found it Fassbender.
Bottom line, I found this fascinating.
Nice timing with that David 8 commercial.
And the implications of a robot connecting a larger real life scenario to some pre-programmed advertising catch phrase that resides somewhere in his earliest programing ... is master stroke.
But he's not a man, he's an android, and people in the future will know that and be in awe about how real it looks.
The way Prometheus promo team more and more infiltrates film's environment into our reality is simply amazing!
Maybe according to the present demographic, but 60 years from now people would have probably been exposed to so many androids that that commercial would be amazing to them.
I don't think Ridley had anything to do with the naming of the androids. It's more than likely the writers, considering each Alien film has had a different director.
Disturb and terrify the shit out of our customers!
I love the backstory they are giving the movie and the universe surrounding it. I hope these things will be available as extras on the Blu-Ray this coming fall/winter.
Haha holy crap i never payed much attention to that scotts being all sneaky. that or it was just pure coincidence. either way, nice eye
Its plausible that there are screens in the Prometheus (or in/on other tech) that run Weyland commercials.
And that's strange, wasn't the line "big things have small beginnings" "leaked" from a reported trailer, instead of a viral video? It wouldn't make sense to have that line in the film, unless David likes to promote his own line of androids. Which I suppose, is possible, since Burke said "building better worlds" in ALIENS.
EDIT: Ohhh, that post was talking about the video I just watched...I thought it was about something different. Nevermind
And I hope the viral video from WonderCon makes it online!
This stuff all better be on the Blu Ray
Ash
Bishop
Call
David
