    That got me thinking...

Who is creepier looking, Giger or Stephen King?

Well Fox having cardboard cut-out and posters at movie theaters is a good sign so far. It's having more people know more about the film and more hype for the film!
  3. Ratchetcomand
I'm surprise we have a cardboard cut-out soon since I remember we remove our Avengers poster back in October because we thought it was too soon. I had people going up to me and asking "What the hell is this movie?". I was like "It's upcoming science fiction film directed by Ridley Scott and it's takes place in same universe as Alien". They where like "Sounds cool. I will look up more about the movie when I get home".

Sorry for the side way looking image. I'm not used to taking images with a phone.

THANK YOU!  My good friend sent me a message earlier today, that he saw PROMETHEUS cardboard cut-out at a local theater, but he didn't have any photos.

QuoteI wouldn't have minded that version of the chestburster, actually. Seeing a viciously mutated chicken carcass squealing like a pig while it's punching its way out of someone's chest cavity would be suitably disturbing. The facehugger redesign, however, was certainly an improvement.

Roger Dicken don't get no muhf**king love!

I still don't get why there is a human statue in a extra terrestrial environment, were humans created by them or something?

    Allegedly, yes.

We'll know more, eventually. The truth could be different.

All I know about the giant head is it suppose to be the pilot of someone's spaceship  8)

"people are going to be in for a shock when they sit down to watch Prometheus and there's an enormous semi-human head piloting a spaceship."

By the way, since February/11 we all read about this rumor:

Or even worst, the chestburster would be a crazy featherless chicken:

Quote from: Xenomorphine on Dec 15, 2011, 11:09:44 PMLike any artist, he can get a bit ahead of himself.

Yes he is very eccentric and needs to be used in the right way I think. Ridley talks about how he had to constantly pull Giger back to that one alien design that he wanted, even though Giger insisted that it needed to be re-designed. If he had been allowed to re-design it who knows, it might have been even scarier.

    -Chris

Yep, if Giger wasnt direct by Ridley, the facehugger would look like a weird lobster:

If you're being bombarded with imagery, one minute might well feel like two, it's a condensed version of why action films appear to go on too long. Perfect for trailers though.

If there were any justice in this world, Giger would receive full power on the Alien creatures in this film.

No. Like any artist, he can get a bit ahead of himself. If his designs for 'Alien 3' had made it intact to the big screen, it would have been an even more WTF production than it already was - especially from a biological perspective.

Every artist, Giger included, needs direction, not complete and total control.

Otherwise, you get the Geroge Lucas effect.

QuoteThat head has nothing with Giger.

Neither was the Alien Queen, but she was designed beautifully and I've never read him say a bad word about it.

    Let's wait and see.

When asked about HR Giger's involvement in the film, Sir Ridley replies:
"We had a good relationship with Giger for many years. We showed him the script for [Prometheus] and he liked it. He's going to work a bit for me with this movie and has been working on a major project that comes in the film."
Maybe we'll see a Giger designed transformation scene involving one of the crew, one of them turning into god knows what :O If Giger is involved it's going to be something really unpleasant :D

this is from an interview a while back with Ridley when they began shooting in Iceland.

Quote from: Mr. Clemens on Dec 15, 2011, 09:49:24 PMDo we know that Giger designed this whatever-it-is, and wasn't just 'consultant' to the actual designers? This distinction means a lot to me...

I think the quote was something like 'Giger is working on a special project for the movie [...] that will blow everyones mind'. Paraphrased, but that was the gist of it if I remember correctly.

    -Chris

That makes me happy! thanks, guys.  :)

However, only the official trailer will give us a true veredict about this film.

    Waiting,waiting,waiting,waiting...

As I understand it, he's only done the designs for one element of the film.
