P.B. is right. Arm length and especially head shape tells the f**k up.

Not sure why nobody sees the ALIENS anymore in right sizes. Just look at the ALIENS hero puppet and somebody in charge should get a feeling for proportions....
    Damn right.

I want a moment of un-armed terror where you get cornered by one of em' and have the 8 foot bastard unfold itself right infront of you as you turn around..

I've just confirmed with Gearbox and Sega that the mention to the Nostromo in the PC Gamer article is indeed a typo. According to Gearbox: "We aren't doing any time travel in this game."

The screenshots used on the magazine are expected to release in about 2-3 weeks.
Good and maybe bad, I hope the Nostromo shows up for multiplayer.

We don't even know what Multiplayer will be yet.

Are there any new screens, different from PC Gamer ones ?

i don't think so, i will have to look at them side by side to be sure though, there is a page long randy pitchford interview though, so that would be extra,
like i said the article is pretty similar, working all with the same information as far as i can tell (it even has a timeline very similar to the one in PC Gamer) it's just written by a different writer,

But if Xeno jumped on your back, then there's no way you could shake him off, even if you're Arnold...Remember with what ease Kane's Son grabbed Parker in the first movie? BTW, is that Xeno mounting him ???

The Xenomorphs are not small. In the cover of the PC Gamer Mag, the Xeno jumping could easily have its legs down and not be jumping and still be at least a head taller than Winter who I will assume is 6 ft - 6 ft 2 in. Now that would make the Xeno 7 ft - 7 ft 2 in. Still 4-6 inches short of the minimum height.

What i dont understand is how did the Orbital Nuke of LV-426 go horribly wrong? It went ''Bang'' Didn't it.Even the Nostromo,i hope they tell this story well. After Duke Nukem im gonna be a skeptic, not putting all my eggs in one basket.

    There was no orbital nuke.

People seem to forget this because of the exchange of lines between Ripley, Hicks and Burke. "Nuke the site from orbit. Its the only way to be sure"

Obviously a orbital nuke would have been more effective than the reactor malfunctioning, but for the sake of this game, Ripley and company didn't think of that.

For the purpose of the game, the reactor's explosion still would have killed all humans at the colony but who knows about the Xenos.

Yea my mistake, had a brain fart there. But if the Reactor blew up how would handleys hope be still standing,Guess only time will tell.

Did we already know about the contracting of Syd Mead to design the interiors, and the hiring of two Battlestar Galactica senior writers? And apparently there will be gameplay systems to represent every bit of equipment we see the marines using in Aliens. Combine that with a pretty engine which looks nothing like Unreal Tech 3, and it sounds like a seriously promising title...

About syd mead designing the interiors let's remember that it was Ron Cobb who designed almost all the iconic shapes and structures that defined the alien Tech universe corridors, airlocks, operations, medlab, etc. I like syd mead designs but  i feel he is too domotic, let's hope that his designs fits well into de franchise

There have been dozens of aliens tie in novels and comics, but none of them have been considered canon. 20th century fox, owners of the series, haven't decided if Colonial Marines will be, but Randy says they're open to it.

My fears about the crusher have subsided a little after seeing that pic. It doesn't look as bad as I feared.

Hopefully they'll have a nightmare difficulty that will greatly up the damage resistance on the Aliens.

I can see what you guys are saying, but there has to be some difficulty curve for newcomers.

As for the Nostromo, I'm betting on either a multiplayer map, or the Nostromo's class of freighter making an appearance in the game (like the Ferarco in AvP '99). Perhaps as a derelict, or something like that.

Had such high hopes for the game. But after seeing this crusher... meh :-\ Why can't they just stick to the canon versions?! As if chet wasn't horrible enough >:(

Maaan.... looks sweet, but it sounds like this game is going to be another bug hunt. I'm getting a bad Zombie Survival game vibe here for some reason. The Aliens are short/small and seem to be weak so to speak and the emphasized danger here seems to be on mini-bosses and such so that the everyday warrior can act as cannon fodder.

True, I suppose they could be updated models of the Nostromo similar class freighters. But the exact same ones floating around wouldn't make much sense.

crusher...huh...interesting aproach, waiting for fox to intervine bitching about how they own the series and totally f**k it up like theyve been doing since 1992,

and i guesse people play the voices of the aliens in the game, check out this link i was looking to see if lance henrikson was up to anything cool and saw colonial marines at the top of the list and saw in the cast details there are voice actors for the aliens.......

wonder how this will turn out

Sound effects. They do this sort of thing all the time. You should look at what other work those people have done. Plus it could potentially be for multiplayer when playing as the Xenos and say voice commands are issued or something like that.

Even having similar classed vessels would be hard to explain since its 57-60 years since ALIEN.

Not really.  In today's aviation the DC-9 first flew in 1965, yet Northwest Airlines still had them in their fleet when they were picked up by Delta (not the originals, but updated models) when I worked for them in 2009.  A lot of airlines run aircraft that are 20 years old.  With the US Navy we had the USS Kitty Hawk which was around from 1961 to 2009, or the USS Enterprise, which was commissioned in 1961, and is planned for decom in 2013.

It's not hard to believe that even more expensive ships in a space fleet would stay in service even longer with various upgrades here and there.
