‘Discover More’ Prometheus Competition

Fansite Prometheus-Movie.com is doing another one of their competitions where you can win quite a bit of stuff. One lucky person will get a copy of Prometheus on Bluray, two posters, Aliens Infestation on DS and the Aliens Omnibus comic.

Go to their competition page, read the instructions and answer the four Prometheus-related questions. The competition closes on November 25th and one winner will be drawn at random. I assume there are no location restrictions.

Help us fight the Aliens Infestation! Scattered throughout all the website of AvPGalaxy there are various images depicting all main stages of the Alien life cycle. We have been infested with Alien eggs, facehuggers, chestbursters and more. All you need to do to help is find those slippery images and send them to us so we can terminate the infestation once for all. Otherwise we will have to nuke the website from orbit…

If you succeed in this task, you will enter for a chance to win some very cool Alien Infestation buttons. All thanks to the people at Sega. The buttons show several Alien life forms and Colonial Marines fighting for their lives in iconic environments. We have 12 sets of 4 buttons each to giveaway. This is your chance to win this rare item!

How it works: Listed below you will find the five simple steps that you need to follow.

• Be a registered member of AvPGalaxy.
• Find all 4 images showing the main stages of the Alien life cycle. They can be found anywhere in the main site and look like this. Also make sure NOT to target our Colonial Marines or Space Jockey fellow friend in the process!
• Have you found them yet? Send the images (or links) to us along with your username to ikarop@avpgalaxy.net. Make sure to put Aliens Infestation in the subject of the e-mail.
• First come, first served basis. The first 12 people to submit a valid entry will win the prize. The competition will be open for six days and be closing Saturday afternoon, December 31st. The winners will be announced on December 31st.

AvPSpectrum Aliens Pack Competition

AvPSpectrum is currently running an Aliens competition on their website. Up for grabs is a copy of Aliens Omnibus Volume 1, Aliens #1, a copy of Aliens Infestation for the Nintendo DS as well as a limited edition Lenticular Aliens Infestation Print and a AvPSpectrum cap.

I must admit the print looks quite nice. There are no location restrictions from what I can gather. You must be a member of the site and answer the Aliens-related questions on their competition page. The competition closes December 15th.

Aliens Infestation Developer Diary 5 Released

Sega and Gearbox have published the last developer diary from WayForward Technologies. In this final entry, director Adam Tierney discusses Aliens Infestation’s approach to death and rescue. You can read both parts of this entry here (part one) and here (part two).

“When the HP Meter is drained, that character is dead (sort of). Say goodbye, because you’re never going to see their portrait, or hear their voice again. You even get a big, fat, red X over their portrait in the Marines Roster, and their status is changed from “Active” to “Deceased”. Once they’ve died, their radio screen cuts to static (as in the film), and the player is asked to select from their remaining soldiers.“

A couple of weeks ago, we revealed the first individual character BIOs detailing the backstory of nine of the game characters. Make sure to check the links posted above to find the rest. Alternatively, you can download all 20 characters BIOs here.

Aliens Infestation is NOW available in North America, and to celebrate we’re giving away a package that includes a copy of the game as well as some cool Aliens Infestation buttons. All thanks to the generous people over at Sega.

The buttons show all stages of the Alien life cycle and several Colonial Marines meeting their end in gruesome ways. Sega originally gave these away at PAX 2011. This is your chance to enter to win this rare item!

Aliens Infestation Developer Diary 4 Released

Gearbox has published the fourth developer diary for Aliens Infestation. This time around, WayForward’s Adam Tierney covers everything from the equipment and weapons to the mobility of the Colonial Marines. You can read the full entry here at Gearboxity. “The barely-seen UA-571C Sentry Guns make an appearance in the game (both in assistance, and resistance, to the player). There seems to be a real cult following around this particular piece of technology, since it was seen so briefly in the film, so we were glad to be able to pull it into the game in a more substantial way.“

Aliens Infestation Launch Trailer

Aliens Infestation is now available in Europe and to celebrate Sega and WayForward have released a launch trailer. The video is a combination of action sequences  from the game and cutscenes featuring the USS Sephora warship. Check it out below. You can download the trailer here in HQ.

Aliens Infestation Officially Released in Europe!

Today is September 30, 2011 which means that Aliens Infestation has been officially released in Europe. The game is available for the Nintendo DS and has been developed by Wayforward in association with Gearbox Software. It’s an action-packed, platform shooter with a hardcore, retro feel and a deep storyline that combines elements from the upcoming Aliens Colonial Marines game and William Gibson’s unused script for Alien 3. Players are able to recruit and play as 19 different marines, each with their own unique dialogue, and explore iconic environments including the Sulaco, the Derelict ship, and LV-426.
