Berserker Predator Weapons & Equipment

Wrist Blade

All three main Berserker Predators are armed with a single retractable scythe-like blade on their right wrist gauntlets. Like the regular Predators, the blade is made from some form of strong metal. However, the metal is much stronger and durable than the one used for the Classic Predator. As shown in the fight between the two Predators, when the two locked blades, Mr. Black overpowered and broke Classic’s wrist blades. The blade is also much longer than the wrist blades of the Classic Predator, approximately twice as long. As demonstrated numerous times, the blade mainly serves as a melee weapon. Finally, the blade can be fired as a weapon as shown when Mr. Black fired his blade at Isabella during the climax. This is most likely a last resort use.

Shoulder Cannon

Mr. Black and the Tracker Predator are armed with shoulder cannons mounted on their left shoulders. As with the regular Predators, it is the Berserker Predators most powerful weapon. However it differs in design as it is much smaller and the firing mechanism works slightly differently in that the gun splits into two components, each rotating around the other in a clockwise direction. The shoulder cannon can be charged up so that it can fire shots of varying damage. A well-charged shot is enough to blow Noland to pieces, while a quicker, rapidly fired shot is enough to knock Stans off his feet or puncture a hole through the Nikolai’s chest. As with the regular Predators, the shoulder cannon is also connected to the Berserker Predator’s vision modes. It also appears to work seamlessly with both of Mr. Black’s vision modes. It is unknown if a red triangle focuses on the target as it was never shown onscreen, only inferred.

Speargun

In a homage to the original film referencing Blaine’s death, the Berserker Predators are armed with spearguns. The spearguns are never seen rather the spear itself which when fired expands within the body of the prey, jutting out in two directions. This is only used once in the film, when the Berserker Predators kill Mombassa.

Mechanical Falcon

The mechanical falcon is a new addition to Predators, and is used only by the Falconer Predator, hence its name. It’s not really a falcon but rather a small reconnaissance that the Falconer Predator uses to spy on its prey. It is presumably connected to the Falconer Predator’s vision mode allowing him to see what the falcon sees. It may serve a similar purpose to shoulder cannons as well because during the first battle that took place in the hunting camp; three red lasers were seen targeting the humans. Also the falcon sits in place where the shoulder cannon should be on Falconer’s left shoulder. Overall, the falcon makes a brief appearance in two noticeably scenes.

Cloak Generator

The Berserker Predators also have an improved version of the cloak generator that the Classic Predator uses. Though the Berserker Predators use the cloak generator in the same way as the previous films, there are noticeably differences. It appeared to be more resistant to damage than the Classic Predators cloak generator. For example, when Mr. Black ran into Classic, blue sparks coursed Classic Predator though this did not happen with Mr. Blacks’. Also, when Nikolai shot numerous times at a cloaked Tracker Predator at point blank-range with a pistol, the cloak was not disabled. The effect of the Berserker Predators decloaking is slightly different in that they shimmer into view. Aside from that, the cloak generator is the serves the same purpose as is for the regular Predators.

Wrist-Computer

As with the regular Predators, Mr. Black and Tracker Predator are armed with a wrist-computer. It has a similar design to the Classic Predator’s wrist-computer and does not get used much throughout the film. The only noticeably time that it is used is when Mr. Black activates the self-destruct mechanism on the Berserker Predator ship to blow it up. Presumably, the wrist-computer is connected to the control-system of the Berserker Predator ship.

Mask

-Vision Modes
In Predators the vision modes of the regular Predators do not make an appearance due to the introduction of the new Berserker Predators. However we do see the vision modes of the Berserker Predators which are extremely similar to the regular Predators. Like them, the Berserker Predators use the standard infrared as well as two additional vision modes. Another point to make is that we also see the natural vision of the Berserker Predators as well, which again, is similar to the regular Predators.

In the screenshot below, we can see the standard blue/red infrared vision which all three Berserker Predators use. Notice that the overall look of the vision is the same. For example blue means its cold and red means it’s hot. However, there are noticeable differences. For one the images are a lot sharper and there is a higher contrast. This makes the overall image appear clearer. The Berserker Predators infrared vision mode also displays a red triangle; however it is never shown only assumed that it is used to improve accuracy and lock onto targets. Finally, like the regular Predators, the vision mode allows the Berserker Predators to zoom in on an object or target.

The screenshot below shows what the Berserker Predators natural vision looks like. This is what Mr. Black sees when he takes off his mask after incapacitating Classic Predator before killing him. Notice that the image is a lot sharper and higher in contrast than the natural vision of the regular Predator seen in the original film.

The next vision mode is used for tracking escaping prey, and is only used briefly by the Falconer Predator. From what can be seen it acts as a chemical-sensor and picks up pheromones from where the prey has been i.e. their tracks. The orange background and yellow tracks bear a strong resemblance to a similar vision mode used by the Wolf Predator in AVPR.

The screenshot below shows the final green vision mode that is used by Mr. Black in the final battle and this vision mode is used to detect vibrations and process them into a distorted image. The sound-detecting mechanisms of this vision mode are shown to be extremely accurate as it is shown detecting and processing vibrations as small as those of a heart beat. It is also implied that this vision mode displays a red triangle as well.

-Audio Analyser
Like the regular Predators from Predator and Predator 2, the Berserker Predators could also record and play back voices. These are also displayed on the vision mode when it is being recorded. The Berserker Predators use the play-back voices to great effect, for example leaving a dead Cuchillo in the middle of a field surrounded with hidden traps, and almost fooling the humans into believing that he was injured and needed help. It is unknown however if the Berserker Predators are also able to play back these voices without the need for their mask like the regular Predators as it was never shown.

-The Red Laser
The red targeting laser returns in Predators, and is used by Mr. Black and Tracker Predator onscreen. It is implied but never shown if the Falconer Predator has a red laser. Unfortunately the Classic Predator never gets the chance to use his; however the ones used by the Berserker Predators is the same. Although the Berserker Predators infrared vision mode displays a red triangle, it is never shown only assumed that it is used to improve accuracy and lock onto targets. Instead it is shown to guide the Berserker Predator vision mode and scan objects. It is also implied that the red triangle can be displayed with other vision modes as well.
