Here are descriptions of the main Alien Isolation characters including Amanda Ripley, Samuels, Taylor, Verlaine, Marlow and Waits.

Amanda Ripley

Amanda Ripley Alien Isolation CharactersAmanda Ripley is Ellen Ripley’s daughter and she is the protagonist in Alien Isolation. She is voiced by Andrea Deck. Amanda is searching for her mother who went missing on the Nostromo 15 years ago and a Weyland-Yutani employee called Samuels tells her that the Anesidora spacecraft has found the Nostromo flight recorder and have taken it to the nearby Sevestopol Station. Sevestopol is a free port space station owned by the Seegson Corporation and is in orbit around the gas giant KG348. Ripley travels there on the Torrens spacecraft with Samuels, Nina Taylor and Verlaine to recover it.

Amanda, Samuels and Taylor cross through space to the Station but their EVA line is severed by debris and they get separated. Ripley makes her way inside the Station and discovers that the crew have resorted to looting and scavenging for supplies and generally being hostile to anybody outside their group. She meets a man called Axel who convinces Ripley to help him if she can get him off the Station. He informs her that a monster is on the loose and a xenomorph soon appears and kills Axel. Ripley comes across the Nostromo flight recorder but finds out that the data is lost and cannot be recovered. She contacts Samuels and Taylor and discovers that Taylor has been injured so she must find medical supplies for her in the Station’s med bay.

When Ripley meets up with Samuels and Taylor, the three of them are taken into custody by the Station’s Marshall, Waits, and his deputy Ricardo. Waits tells Ripley that the alien was brought aboard by Marlow, captain of the Anesidora, who is currently under arrest. Marlow tells Ripley that the Nostromo’s flight recorder was found near a planetoid called LV-426. When they explored LV-426, they discovered a derelict spacecraft and a nest of alien eggs. Marlow’s wife was attacked by a Facehugger and he brought her to Sevestopol Station for treatment. The alien emerged from her and escaped. Waits tells Ripley to lure the alien into a remote section of the Station and seal it in there. Waits betrays Ripley and seals both her and the xenomorph inside and the module detaches from the Station. Ripley manages to escape using an EVA suit and spacejumps back onto Sevestopol Station.

The Station’s androids soon begin killing the remaining crew including Waits and his men. Later, Ripley discovers Samuels is actually a synthetic and he tries to interface with the Station’s artificial intelligence, APOLLO, to stop the androids. He manages to open a path to APOLLO’s control chamber for Ripley but due to APOLLO’s defensive countermeasures, it deactivates Samuels. When Ripley reaches the control chamber, she learns that Sevestopol was recently bought by Weyland-Yutani and they told APOLLO to keep the alien alive. Ripley asks APOLLO why the androids are still killing everybody despite the alien no longer being aboard the Station. APOLLO directs her to the Station’s reactor core where she finds a hive of xenomorphs. She starts a chain of events to purge the reactor which would destroy the hive but the aliens soon escape into the Station.

Ricardo tells Ripley that Taylor was sent by Weyland-Yutani to retrieve the xenomorph and she freed Marlow in exchange for the location of LV-426. Marlow takes Taylor hostage and brings her to his ship the Anesidora with Ripley and Ricardo in pursuit. There, Marlow at attempts to detonate the Anesidora’s fusion reactor to destroy Sevestopol Station to ensure the alien never escapes. Taylor kills Marlow while he is talking with Ripley and they attempt to prevent the reactor from exploding. Taylor is killed by an electrical overload from the reactor and Ripley escapes just before the ship explodes. The explosion doesn’t destroy Sevestopol but it damages it enough to send it falling into KG348’s atmosphere.

Ripley and Ricardo contact the Torrens for evacuation but Ricardo is attacked by a Facehugger. Ripley continues to get off the Station and must help the Torrens dock at the Station. She is about to grab an EVA suit when a xenomorph attacks her and she wakes up cocooned to a wall. By this point, Sevestopol Station is on fire and she creeps her way through the hive avoiding the numerous xenomorphs. She puts on her EVA suit and releases the Torrens from the Station and space jumps to the Torrens. She boards the ship just before Sevestopol loses orbit but Ripley loses contact with Verlaine. She soon discovers that a xenomorph has boarded the ship and has no choice but to hit the emergency airlock release, jettisoning both her and the alien into space. Ripley is alone floating in space unconscious and a light shines on her face from another ship.

Christopher Samuels

Samuels is a Weyland-Yutani synthetic who informs Amanda Ripley that the flight recorder for the Nostromo has been found up by a ship called the Anesidora and has been taken to Sevestopol Station. Samuels, Amanda and Weyland-Yutani executive Nina Taylor travel aboard the Torrens spaceship to retrieve the flight recorder from Sevestopol Station. When they arrive, the three of them attempt to spacewalk to the Station but their EVA line is severed by debris and they become separated.

Samuels

Taylor is injured and Samuels tends to her. Eventually, Amanda makes her way back to them but the three of them are taken into custody by the Station’s Marshall, Waits and his deputy Ricardo. Soon, the Station’s synthetic workers start killing the crew.

Nina Taylor

Nina Taylor is a Weyland-Yutani executive who goes with Ripley and Samuels on the Torrens spacecraft to Sevestopol Station. During a spacewalk to the Station, their EVA line is severed by debris and the three of them are separated. She makes it into the Station with Samuels but is injured. Eventually, Amanda Ripley makes her way back to them with medical supplies but the three of them are taken into custody by the Station’s Marshall, Waits and his deputy Ricardo.

Taylor

Ricardo later tells Ripley that Taylor was sent by Weyland-Yutani to retrieve the alien and she was the one who freed Marlow in exchange for the location of LV-426. Marlow then takes her hostage and goes to his ship the Anesidora. There, he attempts to detonate the Anesidora’s fusion reactor to destroy Sevestopol Station to ensure the alien never escapes. Taylor kills Marlow while he is talking with Ripley and they attempt to prevent the reactor from exploding. Taylor is killed by an electrical overload from the reactor and Ripley escapes just before the ship explodes.

Captain Diane Verlaine

Verlaine is the captain and owner of the Torrens spacecraft. She takes Amanda Ripley, Samuels and Taylor to Sevestopol Station to retrieve the Nostromo’s flight recorder. She remains on the ship while the three of them go into the Station. Later, Ripley and Ricardo manage to contact her to evacuate Sevastopol Station as the explosion on the Anesidora is causing it to lose orbit and fall onto a planet.

Verlaine

Ripley spacejumps onto the Torrens but loses contact with Verlaine. Ripley discovers an alien on the spaceship and has no choice but to hit the airlock’s emergency release, jettisoning her and the alien out into space. The fate of Verlaine is unknown – presumably, she was killed by the xenomorph.

Marlow

marlow Alien Isolation CharactersMarlow is the captain of the Anesidora who was responsible for bringing the xenomorph onto Sevestopol Station. When Amanda Ripley is taken into custody by the Marshall, Marlow is being held in a cell.

Later, Taylor frees Marlow who in turn, takes her hostage and brings her to his ship the Anesidora.

Marshall Waits

Waits is the Marshall on the Station and is voiced by William Hope (Gorman from Aliens). He finds Ripley, Samuels and Taylor and takes the three of them into custody. Waits convinces Ripley to lure the alien into a remote section of the Station and seal it in there. Waits betrays Ripley seals both her and the xenomorph inside and detaches the module from the Station. When Ripley manages to get back to the Marshall Bureau, Ricardo tells her that the androids killed Waits and his team.
