What's interesting about that is the alien has the dorsal fin/spike like the original Giger design.  I wonder why they included it only to remove it before shooting?

Same question I've had ever since owning the effects book

perhaps they realized how it hindered the performers' movements, so they removed it

but they already knew that from Aliens and Alien3, they were part of the crew? So no idea really

I think actually we'll get an Alien: Covenant fan art thread going in the Covie board. They may even be one already.  Have a quick look before you post but if not, please feel free to just make a new one like we had going with Prometheus.
