Original Warrior Alien, without lips?

Did anyone take notice of these statues of the Alien Warriors?

Apparently they're made after the "original" design, which had no lips. I had no idea that was a thing. I...honestly like that better, without the lips. Gives a much more menacing, skeletal look.
