i want to play this game again so badly but i cannot get into it

since the games mouse is so broken the mouse works fine as you move from side to side But ! looking up and down the mouse zig zags around

i wonder if anyone in here had the same problem and how you fixed it ? ( and no there is nothing wrong with my mouse it works in every other game)

not knowing what operating system you have , I made a guess.
windowed mode have a sense only if you have win 8
:P
i never see this inussues on win 7 32/64 bit only on win 8 / 8.1
I know that some mouse have a higher sensitivity to 2500 dpi  can give some problem.
if your mouse allows you to lower sensivity do it.
try to disables the joystick & hardware cursor from the advanced boot options

alternative changes mouse
remember AVP2 have15 years is likely that your mause's too modern.

As JP said,

steel series KANA drivers/software reduce the 'rate'

all should be well.

Open a file called 'autoexec.cfg'

Add this line "Windowed" "1"
