So what happened to all the Alien: Covenant news, leaks and teasers?

Has the Corporal grown fat and lazy? Has Stolen been kidnapped?

Or was I correct in predicting that we'd be seeing a lot less stuff after filming wrapped?

One thing is for sure, we need to get August out the way. It's a barren month. I suspect October/November will be rife

Currently, it would appear Scott is adopting a similar strategy for this movie as he did in 1978/79.  No one was allowed on set.  No one knew what the creature looked like.  We saw a slow trickle of content in the form of magazine articles and photos.  Images of the Alien were not released prior to the release of the movie (not to my knowledge, anyway.).

We did see images of the Nostromo crew and of the ship itself, both interiors and exteriors.  We saw images of the derelict and the Space Jockey.  These were gradually released over time in magazine articles and reviews.  Specialist periodicals such as 'Starlog', 'Fantastic Films' and 'Starburst' were the main source of such content.

The amount of secrecy hasn't changed but the real achievement here is how Scott has managed to keep leaks down to almost nothing in an age where the whole World knows what's going on in an instant something gets released.   That level of secrecy is an achievement on its own.

More or less, though, 'ALIEN: Covenant' is mimicking the promotional strategy of the first movie.  We'll start seeing images of the crew very soon.  Maybe a few spacecraft interiors and exteriors along with them.  The Creatures(s) will come later. That's my theory, anyway.

Mr. Clemens

Leaks are a thing of the past at this point. Now that they're in post and everything's going on behind closed doors, no one in the production's gonna risk their neck leaking anything. It'll all be official from here on in.

Suits me! I kind of feel like I've seen too much already...

However, it would be a shame if they did so well to hide all the crucial stuff before release only for Fox to later spoil it all in the trailers.

I really hope this doesn't happen again. I might even avoid all the trailers for fear of it.

Yeah I think I'm going to avoid the trailers after in the initial teaser. They give away a lot now in the teaser for a trailer for 20 TV spots that are prior to the teaser for an international trailer.

NECA in response to asking if they'd seen the Covenant creatures: "Yes we are sculpting them currently. I can say no more"

And then again in response to asking if he liked them: "Yes."

Mister Skeezler

Awesome. I'm so glad they have the license.

Nice.  Looking forward to seeing these get released.

I guess it was a safe bet NECA landed the licence.

As for the trailer and any promos.  Bring it!  Spoil me rotten!!!  lol.

I'd say it's a sound one.

They've said a few times over the year that they'd be doing it, just nothing else they can really say yet. I'm sure it'll be buried in here somewhere.
