Who Should do the Original Score for Alien V?

Would you rather have a previous composer return? Or someone new?

I would like James Horner to return
4 (26.7%)
I would like Elliot Goldenthal to return
2 (13.3%)
I would like John Frizzell to return
0 (0%)
None of the above. They should keep the tradition of bringing someone new.

As much as I would like Elliot or James back, I'm sort of curious to see what Michael Giacchino would do. He'd be my pick. Who else would be good?

I'd be happy with any of those three picks. I just hope whoever they pick provides a far more inspired score than what Marc came up with for Prometheus.

Rush Hour Rambo

Having watched Gravity again since I saw it in the cinema, Steven Price would be my choice. I loved the music in this movie, it has a eerie and metallic quality which would be perfect for a Alien film in my opinion.

Mark Morgan. I'm not kidding.

Love his Fallout 1&2 soundtrack. I can listen to it every single day and I'm never bored of it.

Of course Morgan won't be considered by any studio to score it.

I'd say combine the old sound with a new sound. Utilize some remastered tracks from James Horner and Jerry Goldsmith's tracks from Alien and Aliens (in particular, a revamped Ripley's Rescue, Newt's Rescue, perhaps? And Bishop's Countdown. And Corridor, from Alien). Could be a good idea to bring back Elliot Goldenthal as well, or remaster some of his Alien3 soundtracks.

The new sound should be Richard James from Aphex Twin (someone who greatly inspired Die Antwoord and Neill Blomkamp).
Check out the tracks "Mould," "Tree," and "Grass," - as well as "Icct Hedral - Philip Glass Orchestration" to get an idea of what you're dealing with. ;)

If you want emulation done well, then get the 'Colonial Marines' composer.

Of all the problems that game had, the musical score wasn't one of them.

I would like Jerry Goldsmith and James Horner to collaborate on an entirely new score.

That's going to be... tricky.

It's not easy living up to those kind of standards. Don't put that kind of pressure on me Trouble.
