Got the update last night:

Hi all,

News of the week: the board game content is now being reviewed for approval! Once it is all cleared, with legal markings and corrections put into place, we will give the green light to the printing company. We have to manufacture just over 2150 board games, which should take around 2-3 weeks.

Free Wargaming rules are currently in process with the graphics company and we will share them with glee once are they are ready.

Some of the painted models you will see in the Rulebook, soon:

We are incredibly pleased with them and excited to see what you guys think! Shipping: we have a number of customers still without real names (they are only using KS nicknames in the main) or wrong/missing addresses, one of our Admin team members is contacting each person individually, however it is a time consuming process and it will cause an additional delay, thus, if your order number is on the list below please log in to the pledge manager and check your data:

3 4 10 12 13 14 27 42 43 45 61 67 72 73 81 111 143 159 201 243 261 287 334 337 355 370 372 392 415 430 432 433 463 557 559 599 649 754 783 842 897 924 937 1000 1029 1101 1220 1240 1257 1284 1389 1405 1407 1497 1507 1561 1571 1770 1906 2014 2016 2017 2021 2022 2023 2025 2028 2029 2030 2034 2035 2037 2043 2045 2047 2048 2049 2051 2052 2053 2054 2055 2056 2057 2058 2060 2061 2064 2068 2069 2070 2071 2072 2073

And welcome lumberjack!

Wish I had put more in for the powerloader now I'd rarely use it but looks spectacular.

Arterial Spray

Yeah I'm at that vague regret stage... I tweeked my order so many times on the last day I'm not even sure what I actually ordered, but don't want to go check in-case I get annoyed something is missing  ::)

Unfortunatly I think the Crusher and the Loader (two of the models I was most keen on) fell by the way-side in favour of queenie and the modular marines (and extra heads/weapons).

Gah if only geek-ery came with an attached bottemless wallet...

Welcome, Lumberjack.

In regards to this update, how do we know what our order number is? I'm pretty sure my details are correct, but upon checking the pledge manager my address had reverted to the original one I entered rather than my current one, so I want to check this out. Is it on the KS site?

Arterial Spray

It should be at the top of your confirmation email, and I think its also in the pledge manager somewhere.

I'm so sad that I was unemployed at the time this kickstarter began and missed my chance to get all this awesome pretties.  :'(
Hopefully the normal retail release will follow soon after. As a wargamer, this excites me greatly. I've waited for something like this for ages. DnD games I've run with friends will be a whole lot more awesome with these minis as well!

Another update: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/513277403/alien-vs-predator-the-miniatures-game/posts/927084

They've posted some pictures of the box and booklets. Supposedly will be shipping September.

I haven't been following this so I may be out of the loop. I noticed the 20th Century Fox logo on the box. This started out as a fan project? But Fox are now involved in this and I assume they'll be taking a big cut of the money?

My God... I want this so much but none of my local miniature shops are getting this for whatever reason!! ARRGH!!

Probably because there isn't an official retail release date yet. I can't see it being earlier than this time next year for that, and that's being pretty generous I feel.

Considering that Prodos is a UK based company, will we see a US Retail release?

Corporal Hicks

It was never a fan project. It was always licensed, D.

They're not just UK. They've expanded to Poland. But yes, I should imagine so. The Kickstarter wasn't UK exclusive.

Darkness

It was always licensed? So why go on kickstarter in the first place? Why doesn't Fox just distribute/pay them themselves?

Corporal Hicks

Not usually how it works. Prodos wants to make an AvP game, they pay Fox to use the name/images/etcs. Then they have to finance the rest of the stuff themselves. They're only a small company so they turned to Kickstarter. They did the same with Deadzone. Used Kickstarter to fund that.

Thankfully I've found 2 nearby places that will be supporting the game. The Grid in Doncaster, Titan Games in Lichfield, if you're interested. I've played Star Trek at both of them and they're nice. The Grid is a much nicer venue though. They're not far from you.

Darkness

I'm not even sure how you play it. So you go to those places on your own and play with complete strangers?

Blacklabel

a lot of times, yeah. And with time those strangers become familiar faces.. and you get new friends, etc. etc.

It's probably not a good game for antisocial types.
