I don't think so, but they seem to be (at least in the first film) curious.

I've always thrown an idea around in my head that, perhaps, the human (or animal or otherwise) memories remain in the Alien, but that they have no control over the creature and are forced to experience first hand the horrors of the Alien's killings.

I like that idea!!.....I've thought about it before. In that sense Kane was slaughtering his fellow crew members.  :o

I wonder what moral issues would arose if that is true being forced to shoot a monster with the soul of your brother, sister, boyfriend, girlfriend, etc.

The Newborn "did" have feelings... The Queen in Alien Resurrection bringing Ripley to her nest to be present as she is giving birth... yeah, that can be seen as a display of feelings for her human progenitor.

Of course this was all due to the human DNA they all shared from Ripley.

but the xeno's in the other films? Hell Naw. Pure Cold Blooded killing/facehugging machines. I allways saw them as creatures  that work on a sort of pure fatal logic...

...this is a thread? Seriously?

Yesh. Yesh.

ripley was purposefully set free inside the nest.. unlike the other humans in there, who were stuck to the wall... to either be facehugged or eaten by the newborn.

to me.. everything points to Ripley being placed there to witness the birth.. as a family member lol... and not as a victim-to-be. :P

..and all this talk is giving me the desire to rewatch the film :P

Well, Xenomorphs appear to have the capability to express anger and sorrow according to the EU, they may also be able express love toward their Queen.

haha Call actually sorta mentions that fact to Ripley ;)

Call - "how does it feel to kill one of your own kind?"
Ripley - "It was in my way."

add to that the fact that Ripley talks of herself as being "the monsters mother"...

and there you go.

Well, Xenomorphs appear to have the capability to express anger and sorrow according to the EU, they may also be able express love toward their Queen.

EU doesnt exist in my dojo :P

The Queen looks angry when Ripley fire eggs down the AP.

And what was thinking the xeno when he looked at Jones ? He did not kill the cat because of his "feelings" ?

They feel some kind of gratitude at the very least.

Remember their message?

Goodbye, and thanks for all the fish!

They don't feel sorrow for the death of other Xenos, just the Queen, especially if there's no one to replace her.
